Impact Jose Alvarez (elbow) was placed on the injured list, creating a need in the bullpen. Littell will fill that void, and he's managed a 4.97 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 25:3 K:BB across 29 innings with the Giants on the season.

José Álvarez - Back on injured list Alvarez was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday due to elbow inflammation, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Impact Alvarez was activated from the injured list Tuesday after a minimum stint caused by a back issue. His immediate return to the shelf is even more concerning given that he did not appear in a game. Though Alvarez will be eligible to take the mound again in late July, the Giants will likely take a cautious approach.

Cole Tucker - Dumped from 40-man roster Tucker was outrighted off the Diamondbacks' 40-man roster Thursday and sent to Triple-A Reno.
Impact The 26-year-old was claimed off waivers by Arizona in early June and has spent the past month at Triple-A. Tucker hit .235/.297/.296 with a home run, nine RBI and four stolen bases in 22 games for Reno, so the Diamondbacks opted to remove him from the 40-man roster.
