Mitch Keller - Charged with fourth loss Keller (0-4) allowed a run on five hits and no walks while striking out five in six innings to take the loss against the Padres on Sunday.

Impact Keller posted his first quality start of the season during Sunday's outing, but he didn't get much help from the Pirates' offense and was forced to settle for his fourth loss in his first five starts in 2022. The right-hander now has a 5.32 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in 23.2 innings this year. Although Keller was unable to enter the win column Sunday, it was encouraging to see him generate some success while throwing 85 pitches in the pitching duel. He tentatively lines up to start in one of the Pirates' two games during a twin bill in Cincinnati on Saturday.

Taylor Rogers - Earns ninth save Rogers struck out two in a perfect ninth inning to earn the save in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Pirates.

Impact Rogers has been one of the most reliable ninth-inning options in baseball over the first few weeks of the season, as he hasn't yet allowed a run and has converted nine of 10 save chances. The southpaw has already matched his save total from 2021, and he's establishing plenty of job security as the Padres' closer.

Anthony Banda - Completes sim game Pirates general manager Ben Cherington said Sunday that Banda (illness) was able to complete a simulated game earlier in the weekend, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Impact Facing hitters without issue represents a step forward for Banda, who was placed on the injured list Tuesday after developing pneumonia. The Pirates are hopeful that the 28-year-old lefty will be able to return from the IL at some point during their six-game road trip that begins Tuesday in Detroit.

Joe Musgrove - Whiffs eight in win Musgrove (4-0) allowed a run on seven hits and no walks while striking out eight in seven innings to earn the win over the Pirates on Sunday.

Impact Musgrove gave up hits in three of the first four innings during Sunday's matchup, but he didn't give up a run until the bottom of the seventh. The right-hander had to settle for a no-decision in his season debut, but he's picked up wins in his last four outings. Musgrove has lasted at least six innings in every start this year and has posted a 1.97 ERA and 0.91 WHIP in 32 innings. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Marlins next Sunday.
