ImpactEstevez was tasked with getting the Rockies out of a bases-loaded jam in the eighth inning Sunday, but he gave up a triple to Wil Myers to clear the bases before forcing a groundout to end the inning. The right-hander went out to begin the ninth inning in a non-save situation with a four-run lead. He gave up a triple to lead off the inning and managed to record two outs afterward, but he was removed from the game after allowing a double. Estevez had thrown 4.1 scoreless innings over his first four relief appearances this season, but he wasn't very reliable Sunday. Despite his shaky performance against the Padres, he should still be in competition with Jairo Diaz to serve as the closer while Wade Davis (shoulder) remains sidelined.

ImpactPazos was called on in the eighth inning of Sunday's game to preserve a 9-1 lead, but he instead put the Rockies in a tough position by allowing the Padres to go on a four-run rally prior to his removal. Although Pazos has found success as a reliever over the past several seasons, he hasn't been utilized much to begin the 2020 campaign despite being one of the few left-handers in Colorado's bullpen.

Drives in threeMyers went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a triple Sunday against the Rockies.
ImpactMyers came through with a timely bases-loaded triple in the seventh inning, which cut the Rockies' lead to 9-5. He hadn't taken advantage of Coors Field until Sunday, as he ends the series just 3-for-12 with a double and a triple. For the season, Myers has managed to drive in eight runs and score five times despite a 37 percent strikeout rate in 41 plate appearances.

ImpactBoth of Machado's hits drove in runs, the first a double in the sixth inning that cut the Rockies' lead to 3-1. He followed that up with a rally-starting single that plated Fernando Tatis Jr. in the eighth inning. Machado has been productive to start the season, as he now has two home runs, seven RBI and seven runs scored in 10 contests.
