Gets call to majors The Reds selected Stewart's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Monday. He will start at first base and bat sixth in the Reds' series opener versus the Blue Jays.

Impact Stewart has been a consistent producer throughout his minor-league career, and he started getting to more over-the-fence power in his age-21 season. He slashed .309/.383/.524 with 20 home runs, 17 steals and a 15.6 percent strikeout rate in 118 games across Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A. Stewart is capable of playing second, third and first base and should get regular work down the stretch. He's more of an average runner than a plus runner, so his speed may not translate in September, but Stewart's hitting ability, role and home park make him a worthwhile roster addition in fantasy.

Moving up to majors The Reds plan to call up Stewart from Triple-A Louisville on Monday, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.

Impact Regarding as one of the top position prospects in the organization, Stewart began the season at Double-A Chattanooga, with whom he posted an .850 OPS en route to earning a promotion to Louisville following the All-Star break. The 21-year-old has been unfazed by the jump in competition, as he's slashed a sizzling .315/.394/.629 with 10 home runs and four stolen bases in 38 games with Louisville to make his way to the big leagues. During his time at Triple-A, Stewart has mostly played third base, but he's also gotten some exposure to first base and second base. The keystone could prove to be Stewart's primary avenue to playing time to begin his big-league career, as Matt McLain has been serving as the Reds' main option at that position but has provided a middling .222/.302/.343 slash line over 122 games.

Impact Stewart will move one step closer to the majors after shining in Double-A ball, posting a .306/.377.473 slash line with 10 homers, 44 RBI, 51 runs and 13 stolen bases over 80 games. The 21-year-old also continued to show an excellent eye at the plate with a 15.5 percent strikeout rate. If Stewart continues to hit well with Louisville, he could get his first call-up to the majors later this season.

Impact Stewart, the 32nd overall pick in the 2022 draft, batted .279/.391/.454 with eight home runs and 46 RBI over 80 games at High-A Dayton. A July wrist injury prematurely ended his season. An advanced approach at the dish is Stewart's calling card; he has nearly as many walks (138) as strikeouts (139) and owns a 15.7 career strikeout rate during his stay in the minors. Stewart split his time evenly between second and third base at Dayton and is expected to open this season at Double-A Chattanooga.

Impact He injured his wrist in an off-field accident in mid-July and was working his way back from the injury at the Reds' spring training complex before injuring it further and needing surgery. Stewart is a bat-first prospect who makes good swing decisions and a lot of contact with burgeoning power. He might be able to handle third base or second base, but could also slide to first base/designated hitter.

Out with hand/wrist injury High-A Dayton placed Stewart on the 7-day injured list July 17 with a hand injury, MLB.com reports.

Impact There are some message board posts suggesting Stewart tore a tendon in his wrist and had surgery, but there hasn't been any firm reporting on that. Nonetheless, it seems quite possible Stewart's season is over, as he hasn't played since July 14. Stewart is capable of playing third and second base and slashed .279/.391/.454 with eight home runs, 10 steals, a 14.8 percent walk rate and a 16.9 percent strikeout rate in 80 games for the Dragons.
