Optioned to Triple-A Simon was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday, per MiLB's transactions log.

Impact Simon was claimed off waivers by Pittsburgh earlier in the day, but he'll report to Indy rather than join the big-league club. He'll serve as organizational depth for the Pirates and will presumably be a candidate for a promotion later on in the year given his versatility.
