Impact Henriquez was shut down in late February due to right posterior elbow soreness, but he has experienced no setbacks since he resumed throwing a few weeks ago. The 22-year-old should be ready to join up with Triple-A St. Paul sometime in April.

Battling elbow injury Henriquez is dealing with right posterior elbow soreness, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Impact The reliever underwent an MRI and will be re-evaluated in about a week after receiving an injection. Henriquez probably wasn't going to crack the Opening Day bullpen anyway, but this injury should officially rule out that possibility even if it doesn't wind up being serious.

Impact Henriquez was promoted from St. Paul on Sept. 18 and made three appearances in his first taste of the big leagues, and he pitched well with a 2.31 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB across 11.2 innings. Simeon Woods Richardson, who is starting Sunday in Detroit, was called up in a corresponding move.

With this in mind, he is likely either injured or working on his mechanics. He should eventually be assigned to Double-A Wichita.

Impact Henriquez was one of six pitchers optioned to minor-league camp as the Twins made their first round of cuts. Acquired earlier this month from the Rangers in the deal that sent Mitch Garver to Texas, Henriquez will move up a level to begin his tenure with a new organization. He split time between Double-A Frisco and High-A Hickory in 2021, compiling a 4.71 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 105:25 K:BB in 93.2 innings between the two stops.
