Invited to spring training The Red Sox have extended Anthony an invitation to big-league camp during spring training, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Impact He'll be joined by fellow top prospects Kristian Campbell and Marcelo Mayer. Anthony won't turn 21 until May but looks close to major-league ready after slashing .291/.396/.498 with 18 homers and 21 stolen bases between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester in 2024. Boston's outfield is already crowded, which makes an Opening Day roster spot for Anthony unlikely, but he could force the issue sooner rather than later.

Has big night in Triple-A Anthony went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, three RBI and three additional runs scored for Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday.

Impact Anthony, who was recently promoted from Double-A Portland, belted his first home run at the new level. He sent it 415 feet to right field off a left-hander and is batting .365/.453/1.034 off southpaws this season. Since his promotion, Anthony is 9-for-27 with three doubles, a home run, four RBI and six runs scored.

Moving up to Triple-A Anthony was promoted to Triple-A Worcester on Sunday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Impact Anthony will take a step up to Worcester after compiling a .266 average with 14 home runs, 44 RBI, 57 runs scored and 16 stolen bases over 319 at-bats in 83 games with Double-A Portland this season. Anthony will be joined by fellow top prospects shortstop Marcelo Mayer and catcher Kyle Teel with Triple-A Worcester.

Shows off power in skills contest Anthony won the Futures Skills Showcase in Arlington (Tex.) on Saturday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Impact The inaugural skills showcase was a three-round competition designed to highlight bat control and power. Anthony was last after two rounds -- the first a bunting competition followed by a hitting to specific thirds of the outfield. It was during the home run part of the showcase when Anthony showed off. He homered on six of his eight swings, including four going the opposite way (which meant more points). Anthony is slashing .241/.349/.441 with 15 doubles, two triples, 10 home runs, 27 RBI, eight steals and 38 runs over 66 games for Double-A Portland.
