Impact Palacios has been sidelined since Aug. 2, with this news marking his first significant progress. He's expected to play in a complex league game Sept. 9, and he could be activated shortly thereafter.

Set to miss four-to-six weeks Rays manager Kevin Cash said Friday that Palacios will miss four-to-six weeks due to a right knee sprain, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Impact Palacios was placed on the injured list Friday after spraining his right knee in Wednesday's game against the Marlins. The timeline would put Palacios on track to return to action in late August or early September, which gives Kameron Misner and Dylan Carlson an opportunity to see more playing time in left field. Prior to his injury, Palacios was slashing .233/.350/.332 with 19 stolen bases, five home runs and 21 RBI across 300 plate appearances.

Heads to IL with sprained knee The Rays placed Palacios on the 10-day injured list Friday with a right knee sprain, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Impact Palacios suffered the injury in Wednesday's loss to the Marlins. The severity of the sprain hasn't been revealed, so it's not clear at this point how long the super utility player might be sidelined. Kameron Misner is absorbing Palacios' spot on the Rays' roster.
