Junior Fernández - Joins big-league club Fernandez was recalled by the Pirates on Saturday, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports.
Impact Fernandez was claimed off waivers from the Cardinals in early September but has remained at the Triple-A level since then, allowing two runs on two hits while posting an 8:6 K:BB in eight innings for his new organization. In 50.2 career major-league innings, he owns a 5.51 ERA.

Wil Crowe - Out with elbow inflammation Crowe landed on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation Saturday, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports.
Impact The timing of the injury means that Crowe's season is over, though it's not yet clear if the injury will carry over into next season. He'll end the season with a 4.38 ERA and 1.39 WHIP (both career bests) in 76 innings of work. Junior Fernandez was recalled to take his place on the roster.
