ImpactWith two runners on base and the Pirates down 3-0 in the second inning, Gamel came through with a huge 404-foot home run to right field to tie the game. The home run was Gamel's ninth this season, his highest total since hitting 11 in 2017. In 20 games since the beginning of September, Gamel is batting .170 (9-for-53) with two home runs, five RBI and six runs scored.

Bryan Reynolds - Slugs 27th home runReynolds went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-5 victory over the Cardinals.
ImpactReynolds went hitless in his first three at-bats Sunday, but he came through with a big solo home run in the seventh inning to put the Pirates up 7-5 and provide a much-needed insurance run. He also reached on an infield single in the ninth inning but did not score. The home run was his 27th of the season, three higher than the career high he set in 2021 despite playing in 16 fewer games to this point. Over 604 plate appearances this season, Reynolds is slashing .260/.343/.459.

Oneil Cruz - Returns to form SundayCruz went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base in Sunday's victory over the Cardinals.
ImpactAfter receiving the day off Saturday, Cruz returned to form with two timely hits and a walk Sunday. The rookie led off the third with a single, stole second base to record his 10th steal of the season and came around to score on a sacrifice fly to put the Pirates up 4-3. He also scored after smashing a double in the fifth inning to tie the game at 5-5. Over his last 10 games, Cruz is batting .308 (12-for-39) with nine runs, two RBI and three stolen bases.

Albert Pujols - Crushes career home run 702Pujols went 2-for-2 with a home run, a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-5 loss to Pittsburgh.
ImpactBatting third in his final regular season game at Busch Stadium, Pujols crushed his 702nd career home run, a 409-foot shot to center field. The future Hall of Famer also hit a ground rule double in the first inning to score two runs, but the offensive explosion was still not enough to give St. Louis the win in his last regular season home game. Pujols now has eight home runs in 26 games since the beginning of September and is slashing .268/.344/.543 through 346 plate appearances this season.
