Impact Blackburn made his 2021 debut Wednesday against the White Sox, and he was charged with the loss after he allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three in 5.1 innings. Although the right-hander didn't fare particularly well, manager Bob Melvin said Blackburn threw a bullpen Friday and will likely make at least one more turn through the rotation. The 27-year-old tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Mariners on Monday.
