Impact Corbin established a new season high with nine punchouts, which also represented his most Ks in a start since 2023. Wednesday marked his second straight quality start, and the veteran left-hander also produced a strong 15 swinging strikes, notably fanning six in a row at one point. Corbin will take a solid 3.35 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 29:13 K:BB over 37.2 frames into a tough matchup on the road against the Yankees, who boast an .878 OPS versus left-handed pitching through their first 42 games.

He gave up two extra-base hits in the inning and was removed from the game after Tyler Soderstrom's two-run double. Corbin generated a season-high 12 whiffs, including six with his slider. He has not given up more than three runs in any start this season but has not completed six innings in any of those outings. Corbin will carry a 3.79 ERA into his next start, which is expected to be at home this weekend against the Mariners.

Impact The 35-year-old lefty tossed 85 pitches (57 strikes) as he continues to give an injury-thinned Texas rotation surprisingly solid innings. Through three starts, Corbin has a 3.77 ERA, but his 1.53 WHIP and 10:5 K:BB are bright red flags that he's still the same pitcher that was saddled with a 5.71 ERA over the prior four seasons with the Nationals. With Kumar Rocker beginning to come around, the Rangers could have a tough choice to make once Jack Leiter (finger) is ready to return from the IL.
