INJURIES

Struggles in no-decision Corbin did not factor into the decision in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Royals, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out two.
Impact Corbin's struggles continued Thursday -- the left-hander has failed to make it through five innings in any of his last four starts, posting an 11.48 ERA in that span (13.1 innings). Overall, the 36-year-old Corbin sports a 4.61 ERA with a 1.41 WHIP and 101:42 K:BB across 24 starts (123 innings) this season. He'll look to get back on track in his next outing, currently slated for next week at home against the Angels.

Jolted by Jays Corbin (6-9) took the loss Saturday, coughing up seven runs on eight hits and two walks over 2.1 innings in a 14-2 rout at the hands of the Blue Jays. He struck out two.
Impact The veteran lefty held Toronto off the board in the first inning, but a six-run second by the home squad quickly took the suspense out of the game. It was Corbin's shortest and worst start of the season, and while it was the first time since June 23 he's been tagged for more than three earned runs, he appears to be fading -- he's failed to last five innings in three straight trips to the mound. Corbin will take a 4.45 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 99:40 K:BB through 119.1 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next week in Kansas City.

Saddled with eighth loss Corbin (6-8) took the loss Sunday against Philadelphia, conceding three runs on four hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out one.
Impact The veteran southpaw was pulled relatively early for the second straight start at 78 pitches, after he was yanked following a three-inning, 72-pitch outing against the Yankees on Monday. Corbin pitched relatively well in this contest, inducing 11 whiffs, but couldn't make it through the fifth after allowing four of the first five batters to reach base. Through 117 total innings, the 36-year-old owns a 4.00 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 97:38 K:BB but could be facing difficulty notching wins and quality starts if he continues to see quick hooks. Corbin lines up for another difficult test in his next start, currently scheduled to be at Toronto next weekend.

Quick hook vs. Yankees Corbin took a no-decision Monday against the Yankees, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks in three innings. He struck out three.
Impact Corbin's streak of starts with at least five innings was finally halted at 16, and it was his second straight outing with three walks allowed. The veteran southpaw threw his second-fewest pitches (72) of the year, and the three strikeouts were his fewest since his June 6 appearance in Washington. Corbin will bring a serviceable 3.91 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 96:35 K:BB across 112.2 frames into his next start, which is set to come at home versus a formidable Phillies lineup this weekend.

Continues to provide length Corbin didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Angels, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks in five innings. He struck out six.
Impact Corbin has really settled into Texas' rotation this season, having now pitched at least five innings in 16 straight starts. Additionally, the veteran southpaw has given up two runs or fewer in five consecutive outings, and he matched a season low in hits allowed Tuesday. Corbin will take a 3.78 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 93:32 K:BB across 109.2 innings into this weekend's scheduled appearance in Seattle against the Mariners, who have a poor .660 OPS versus left-handed pitching at home since the beginning of June.

Excellent again Wednesday Corbin allowed one run on five hits and no walks while striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against the Athletics on Wednesday.
Impact Corbin was pulled having thrown just 69 pitches, exiting with two outs in the sixth frame after having giving up his lone run in that inning. He may have been running out of steam -- the A's strung together three straight two-out knocks after having recorded just two hits across the first five frames -- but it was nonetheless another strong outing by the veteran southpaw, who has allowed three or fewer runs in each of his past five starts. Corbin has a strong 2.54 ERA and 28:6 K:BB over 28.1 innings during that stretch, suggesting that his improbable bounce-back campaign at the age of 36 may be sustainable. He's at a 3.78 ERA and 1.27 WHIP through 19 starts on the season after finishing with an ERA of no better than 5.20 in each of his previous four campaigns.
