Gets minors deal from San Diego The Padres signed Reyes to a minor-league contract Nov. 6.

Impact Reyes had a .468 OPS in 24 games with the Yankees in 2025 but spent most of the season at Triple-A Syracuse in the Mets organization. The 32-year-old is a career .245/.305/.342 hitter across parts of seven major-league seasons and will provide the Padres with some utility depth at Triple-A El Paso.

Impact Reyes spent time in the majors with the Yankees earlier in the season, but he never saw big-league action with the Mets after joining the organization in late June on a minor-league deal. Over 44 games with Triple-A Syracuse, Reyes slashed .289/.385/.484 with six home runs and four stolen bases before getting cut loose.

Impact Reyes elected free agency Friday after being DFA'd by the Yankees, and he won't have to travel far to join his next organization. The 31-year-old infielder slashed .194/.242/.226 over 34 plate appearances during his time in the Bronx and will report to Triple-A Syracuse to begin his tenure with the Mets.

Reyes was initially outrighted to Triple-A after clearing waivers Wedndesday, but he will instead hit the free market and look to a join a team in need of veteran depth in the infield. Reyes appeared in 25 games for the Yankees this season and slashed .194/.242/.226 with one steal and two RBI in 34 plate appearances.
