Alex Faedo - Reinstated from ILFaedo (finger) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Friday.
ImpactFaedo will be back in Detroit's pitching rotation for the first time since suffering a right middle fingernail injury in late May. The right-hander has made five starts in 2023, posting a 5.54 ERA and 0.92 WHIP with 26 strikeouts over 26 innings. If he can control the long ball, six of which he's given up this year, positive regression should be in store for Faedo's ERA moving forward.

Akil Baddoo - Activated, starting FridayBaddoo (quadriceps) was activated from the 10-day injured list and is starting in left field Friday versus the Blue jays.
ImpactBaddoo will make his return to the Tigers' lineup after being unavailable for nearly a month with a right quad injury. The 24-year-old had been in the middle of a cold spell before getting hurt, going 2-for-26 with one run scored and a stolen base while striking out seven times over his last nine contests. Baddoo will look to get off to a hot start and ride it into the All-Star break.

Luis Medina - Ticketed for bulk reliefMedina is expected to serve as the Athletics' bulk reliever Friday in Boston, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
ImpactHe will follow opener Sam Long. The bulk relief role isn't foreign to Medina, who has been used both in that capacity as well as a traditional starter this season. Unfortunately, he hasn't been terribly effective in either role.

Sam Long - Opening on FridayLong will serve as the Athletics' opener Friday in Boston, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
ImpactRight-hander Luis Medina is set to handle the bulk of the innings for the A's, but it will be the southpaw Long first out of the chute. Left-handed batters are hitting only .200/.293/.314 off Long this season.

Ryan Noda - Back in lineup FridayNoda (illness) is starting at first base and batting third Friday against the Red Sox.
ImpactA stomach bug kept Noda out of Thursday's game, but the issue seems to have subsided. The 27-year-old first baseman has been on a hot streak recently, going 4-for-14 at the plate with a homer, four RBI and three runs scored while also drawing five walks across his last four games.
