Impact It's the third multi-hit performance for Hays' in his last four games. The 28-year-old outfielder had quite a series against the A's, going 9-for-17 with two doubles and two home runs. Hays is now slashing .340/.380/.638 through his first 47 at-bats this season. He should have some upside for fantasy purposes this year, hitting in the middle of an improved Orioles lineup.

Esteury Ruiz - Logs three hits Ruiz went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's loss against the Orioles.

Impact Ruiz led off the first inning with a double, eventually coming around to score on a Brent Rooker sacrifice fly. Ruiz would add another two hits, including a two-run single in the fourth. The 24-year-old outfielder has made the most of an expanded role in Oakland. Ruiz is 12-for-41 to start the season with six runs, six RBI and two stolen bases.

Jorge Mateo - Swipes seventh bag Mateo went 0-for-3 with two RBI and a steal in Thursday's 8-7 win over the Athletics.

Impact Mateo now leads the MLB with seven stolen bases early in the season after stealing 35 last year, second to only Jon Berti. Mateo has gotten off to a decent start with the bat as well, going 10-for-35 with two home runs. He's up to eight RBI after driving in a pair of runs Thursday.

Impact Mountcastle led off the fourth inning with a solo shot off Adam Oller, tying the game 4-4. The 24-year-old first baseman has six homers on the season, including four in his last three games, tying him with Pete Alonso for the MLB lead. Mountcastle is slashing .261/.314/.468 with a league-leading 19 RBI through 53 at-bats to start the year.

Yennier Cano - Added to big-league bullpen Cano was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Impact Cano made his big-league debut in 2022 but struggled to an 11.50 ERA and 2.33 WHIP across 18 innings split between the Twins and Orioles. He failed to secure a spot in the big-league bullpen to begin 2023, but he'll have at least a short-term opportunity with Keegan Akin (personal) sidelined.

Spenser Watkins - Back in Baltimore Watkins was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Impact Watkins failed to make the big-league club out of spring training, though he's had a solid start at Norfolk by allowing only three earned runs across 10 frames and two starts. He's likely to pitch out of the bullpen in Baltimore, but he could be in line for spot starts.

Cole Irvin - Optioned after poor start Irvin was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday,Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Impact Irvin allowed six earned runs across only four innings against the Athletics -- his former team -- Thursday. After three turns through the rotation this season, he carried a 10.66 ERA and had a disastrous 5.7 BB/9 and 1.4 HR/9. He'll likely be back in the big-league rotation at some point during the campaign, but he'll have to sort things out in the minors in the meantime. In the short term, the move likely means that both Kyle Bradish (foot) and Grayson Rodriguez will stick in the starting five.
