Hits three-run homer in win
Gorman went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, two walks and an additional run scored in Saturday's 8-5 win over the Brewers.
Impact
Gorman crushed a 433-foot homer off Jose Quintana to give the Cardinals a 7-1 lead in the fifth inning. He has been swinging a hot bat in June, going 9-for-28 with three home runs, eight RBI and five runs scored over 11 games. The 25-year-old is slashing .220/.317/.398 with four long balls, 17 RBI and 17 runs scored across just 139 plate appearances this season. He could be at risk of returning to the bench with Brendan Donovan (toe) expected back Sunday but has certainly made a strong case for continued playing time with his recent performance.

Nolan Gorman works to find consistency despite inconsistent playing time, and the Cardinals shouldn't give up on his bat too quickly.

Continues to heat up with homer
Gorman went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 10-9 loss to Toronto.
Impact
Gorman remains stuck in part-time role, but he's been relatively productive lately when given the opportunity to play. Across his last 15 games, the 25-year-old infielder is batting .343 (12-for-35) with four extra-base hits, five RBI and three runs scored. It's unclear if his recent hot streak will earn him more playing time going forward, but Gorman at least has a clearer pathway to at-bats at second base while Brendan Donovan sees extra reps in the outfield amid the absence of Jordan Walker (wrist).

Homers, reaches three times
Gorman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's loss to the Royals.
Impact
Gorman started at designated hitter in what was his first time in the lineup in a week and immediately made his presence felt with a two-run blast off of Michael Lorenzen in his first plate appearance. With Alec Burleson playing the outfield while Jordan Walker (wrist) is sidelined, Gorman could see more action in the DH spot in the immediate future, although that would require Ivan Herrera being used more frequently at catcher.

Drawing rare start
Gorman is starting at designated hitter and batting eighth in Tuesday's game versus the Royals.
Impact
Playing time has been hard to come by lately for Gorman. This will be his first start in a week and only his sixth start across the Cardinals' last 20 contests.

Enters lineup as replacement
Gorman entered Wednesday's lineup versus the Pirates after Nolan Arenado was scratched, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Impact
Gorman had been set to sit out his third game over the last four contests, but Arenado's undisclosed injury gives him a reprieve. The 24-year-old Gorman is just 2-for-27 at the dish over his last 10 tilts.

Playing time starting to slip
Gorman is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.
Impact
It marks the second straight game and third time over the last four contests that Gorman has been out of the lineup, and all of them have been against right-handed pitching (to be fair, the first of those was the second leg of a doubleheader). Alec Burleson has been heating up at the plate of late and looks to have regained his standing over Gorman as the top designated hitter option versus righties.

Grabbing seat Tuesday
Gorman is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.
Impact
It's the first time since April 16 that Gorman wasn't in the lineup against a right-hander when that game wasn't part of a doubleheader. The Cardinals are using Willson Contreras at designated hitter and Alec Burleson at first base Tuesday.

Plays through finger laceration
Gorman suffered a left index finger laceration during the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Mets, Daniel Guerrero of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Impact
He was injured in the second inning when Willson Contreras stepped on Gorman's glove hand during the latter's sliding catch on a popup in shallow right field. Gorman was checked on by the team trainer but remained in the game, eventually getting removed in the ninth inning for defense. He did not play in the second game of the Cardinals' doubleheader sweep, but it does not seem as though Gorman's finger issue will prevent him from being available Monday versus the Pirates.

On bench for second game of day
Gorman is out of the lineup for the second game of Sunday's doubleheader versus the Mets.
Impact
The Cardinals are facing a right-hander (Tylor Megill) in the second game of the day, but the left-handed-hitting Gorman will nonetheless find himself on the bench. Gorman started at second base in the Cardinals' 6-5 win in Game 1, going 0-for-2 with a walk and an RBI.

Gorman isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.
Impact
The Cardinals will give Gorman a chance to recollect himself after going 0-for-13 with three walks and five strikeouts over his last five games. His absence will open a spot in the lineup for Alec Burleson to start at first base while batting sixth.

Out against lefty
Gorman is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest in Cincinnati.
Impact
The left-handed-hitting Gorman is in a 1-for-17 funk at the plate and the Reds are starting southpaw Andrew Abbott, so Gorman will sit out Thursday's series finale. Luken Baker is at designated hitter and batting sixth.
