Clean inning Tuesday Sandlin struck out one in a perfect inning versus St. Louis on Tuesday.

Impact The right-hander has had some uneven performances, allowing six runs (three earned) across 6.1 innings. Sandlin has been a reliable bullpen arm this year with a 2.54 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 40:17 K:BB, but he's picked up only four holds in 27 appearances. The 24-year-old is unlikely to work his way into a higher-leverage role just yet despite the strong performances.

Nabs first win Sandlin (1-0) picked up the win in Monday's 4-3 victory over the Orioles, striking out three batters over 1.2 perfect innings of relief.

Impact The rookie right-hander took over from Jean Carlos Mejia with a 3-2 lead to begin the fifth inning, and Sandlin fired 15 of 22 pitches for strikes to earn his first win in the majors. The 24-year-old has been almost untouchable in June, posting a 0.00 ERA and 11:2 K:BB through 5.2 innings while allowing only one hit, so Sandlin is making a strong case for a consistent high-leverage role.
