Justus Sheffield - Goes to IL The Mariners placed Sheffield on the 10-day injured list with a left forearm strain Wednesday, Corey Brock of The Athletic reports.
Impact Sheffield likely suffered the injury during Tuesday's brutal outing against the Yankees, when he was tagged for six runs in 1.2 innings. It's unclear whether the lefty will be activated when eligible after the All-Star break. Erik Swanson was activated from the IL in a corresponding move.

Impact The righty made two rehab appearances with Triple-A Tacoma, allowing a solo homer and striking out one in two innings of work. Before a right groin strain sent Swanson to the IL on May 29, he posted a 0.69 ERA with 14 strikeouts and six walks in 13 innings. He made nine appearances, two of which were starts.
