GAME LOG

INJURIES

Homers in matinee Lowe started at first base and went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 9-1 loss to the Cardinals in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.
Impact Lowe gave the Reds an early lead with his second-inning homer, but other than that, Cincinnati didn't put up much of fight. It was the seventh homer of the season for Lowe, who has hits in five consecutive starts, going 7-for-22 with three doubles, a home run and five RBI during that span. He could earn more playing time after the Reds placed third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes (back) on the 10-day injured list Friday. Whether Sal Stewart moves from first to third or the recently activated Eugenio Suarez handles the hot corner, Lowe could see time at first base or DH.

Sitting again Tuesday Lowe is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.
Impact It's the second straight game on the bench versus a right-handed starter for Lowe, who has an .876 OPS through 29 games but has scuffled a bit of late with just four hits and nine strikeouts in his past 22 at-bats. Eugenio Suarez (oblique) isn't expected to come off the injured list in the near future, so Lowe should still get plenty of playing time going forward despite the consecutive absences.
MAY 12 • ROTOWIRE
Taking seat Sunday Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.
Impact Lowe will hit the bench for the series finale after going 1-for-7 with three strikeouts as the Reds' designated hitter during the first two games against Houston. Sal Stewart will get a day off from playing the field but will stay in the lineup Sunday as Lowe's replacement at DH.

Goes deep again Lowe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Cubs.
Impact Lowe gave the Reds a 2-0 lead in the sixth inning with a solo homer, his sixth in the last 11 games. He's swallowed up many of the starts at designated hitter since Eugenio Suarez (oblique) landed on the 10-day injured list; however, the injured infielder/DH began baseball activities this week. Suarez has fielded grounders and began hitting in an indoor cage. A rehab assignment should follow, which means Lowe's window could be closing within the next week.

Covers DH against righty Lowe served as the designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Saturday's 9-2 win over the Tigers.
Impact Lowe followed Sal Stewart's three-run homer in the first inning with a solo shot, increasing the Reds lead to 4-1. It was the second consecutive game in which Lowe went deep.
