Impact Pearson, a first-round pick out of Central Florida CC in 2017, made his major-league debut with the Blue Jays in 2020. Across 41 outings this season, Pearson has a 5.63 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 51:17 K:BB across 40 innings, though he has given up six runs across his last three appearances, including four runs against the Diamondbacks on July 13. He'll join a Chicago bullpen that has seven relievers on the injured list, including five on the 60-day IL. Moves past illness Pearson (illness) gave up an earned run on one hit and one walk over one inning out of the bullpen in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Rays.

Impact Pearson made his first appearance of the second half Tuesday after he had been unavailable out of the bullpen for the Blue Jays' series with the Tigers this past weekend while he was battling an illness.
