Impact Crismatt was called up to give the Padres some depth in the bullpen after Keone Kela (shoulder) was placed on the injured list Thursday. Chrismatt has made three appearances for the team in 2021, maintaining a 3.38 ERA and 1.62 WHIP with a 9:3 K:BB across eight innings.

Impact Crismatt was asked to take on a rather large workload Tuesday after Blake Snell showcased major struggles and failed to make it out of the first inning. The 26-year-old entered the game in the bottom of the second with the game knotted at three apiece and wasn't able to keep the Padres in it. He surrendered two runs in the second, another in the third that came as a result of a Jurickson Profar throwing error, and a final one in the fifth on a pinch-hit RBI single by Colin Moran. Crismatt now owns a 3.38 ERA and a 9:3 K:BB through eight innings this season and will likely require at least a few days off before manager Jayce Tingler considers using him again.

Impact Crismatt was sent down by the Padres on Saturday after he allowed two hits and three walks while striking out four in three scoreless innings to begin the season. However, he'll return to the major-league roster after Adrian Morejon (forearm) was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. If Dinelson Lamet (elbow) is unable to return from the 10-day injured list later in the week, Crismatt could fill in as a starter for the Padres.
