Impact Making his first start at catcher since July 20, Garver had a perfect day at the plate and did pretty well behind it too, guiding George Kirby and the Seattle bullpen to a combined shutout. Garver had been stuck in a 2-for-29 slump in his last eight games heading into Friday, but he remains the only backup option to Cal Raleigh and is part of the mix at designated hitter despite a career-low .649 OPS on the season, so for now he has a stable floor for playing time. Once Randy Arozarena has joined the team and Julio Rodriguez (ankle) is back in action however, competition for those DH at-bats could be fierce.
