Thornburg did not give up a run in his first four appearances for the Twins and still has a respectable 3.32 ERA in 14 total appearances this season between Atlanta and Minnesota.

Impact Minaya was booted from Minnesota's 40-man roster less than a month ago, but he he will get another opportunity after biding his time in the minors for a while. Now 31, Minaya has been in affiliated ball since the age of 18 and has appeared in parts of six MLB seasons. He has a 3.75 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 192:91 K:BB over 174.2 career innings. Tyler Thornburg was designated for assignment to clear a spot for Minaya.
