Chris Paddack - Set for Aug. 27 MRI Paddack (forearm) has started playing catch but will undergo another MRI on Aug. 27 before taking the next step, MLB.com reports.
Impact Paddack has been out since July 14 due to a right forearm strain. While he has started some activity, the fact he won't do much more before Aug. 27 makes it seem unlikely that he'd be able to begin a rehab assignment before September. It sounds like he may return in late September in a best-case scenario. The Twins may look to use him as a reliever in the playoffs like last year as a result.

Byron Buxton - Gets cortisone shot Buxton recently received a cortisone shot in his injured hip, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Impact Buxton's right hip inflammation appears to be caused by scar tissue from a similar injury he suffered in 2022, said Twins head athletic trainer Nick Paparesta. He should be able to increase his activity in the next few days. The Twins sound optimistic that he'll be able to return from the IL when first eligible, but Buxton has been slow to return from similar injuries in the past.

Justin Topa - Setback while playing catch Topa (elbow) had a setback when he experienced soreness while playing catch, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Impact Topa missed the first four months of the season due to a tear in the patellar tendon of his left knee. He began a rehab assignment July 23 but was shut down Aug. 10 due to right elbow inflammation. It seems unlikely that he'll be able to return from the injured list before the regular season ends.

Brooks Lee - Begins swinging bat Lee (shoulder) has started swinging a bat from the right side and could begin throwing this weekend and swinging from the left side Monday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Impact Lee went on the injured list Aug. 9 with right biceps tendinitis. He later had a cortisone shot for the injury. It sounds like he'll start ramping up activity the next week, but it's not clear how long it will take him before he could begin a rehab assignment.

Impact The examination by prominent sports surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache confirmed the initial diagnosis that will likely sideline Ryan for the rest of the regular season. The Twins haven't ruled out Ryan's return, but manager Manager Rocco Baldelli previously said that Ryan's recovery will take "weeks to months."
