Chris Roller - Added to 40-man roster The Brewers selected Roller's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact Roller, 27, would've become a minor-league free agent, but the Brewers have added him to the 40-man roster in order to prevent that from happening. The outfielder slashed .247/.394/.449 with 15 home runs and 19 stolen bases at the Triple-A level in 2023. Roller has not seen any action at the big-league level.

Eric Lauer - Outrighted to Nashville Lauer cleared waivers Friday and was sent outright to Triple-A Nashville, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact Lauer struggled to get things going with the Brewers in 2023, accumulating a 6.56 ERA and 1.67 WHIP over 46.2 innings in 10 appearances. He reserves the right to elect free agency, but other teams will likely have to see signs of improvement before giving Lauer another shot in a big-league rotation.

Impact Three days after general manager Matt Arnold expressed optimism toward Woodruff's status for 2024, the Brewers now expect Woodruff to miss most, if not all, of next season as he recovers from his procedure. Woodruff missed four months of the regular season due to shoulder issues, and his capsular injury also kept him out of the team's NL Wild Card Series matchup with the Diamondbacks. Woodruff will be entering his final year of team control in 2024, though it's possible he signs a two-year deal with Milwaukee to pitch in 2025.

Impact "It's hard to put a timetable on it for a 19-year-old," general manager Matt Arnold said Tuesday, "but he has a chance to be really special." McCalvy doesn't have a quote to corroborate his definitive sentence about Chourio returning to Triple-A, but given the Brewers' outfield depth chart, it makes sense. Christian Yelich, Sal Frelick, Garrett Mitchell, Joey Wiemer and Tyrone Taylor are all under club control, and Milwaukee probably wouldn't want to have Chourio on the big-league roster in a part-time role.
