Submits quality start
Mikolas allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three over six innings in a no-decision versus the Nationals on Sunday.
Impact
Mikolas left with the Cardinals behind by a run, but they tied the game in the seventh inning and walked it off in the ninth. The veteran right-hander posted a quality start in four of his five outings in July, though his efforts were tarnished a bit by a six-run mishap versus the Cubs just before the All-Star break. He's now at a 4.99 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 83:20 K:BB through 124.1 innings over 22 starts this season. Mikolas is projected to make his next start at Wrigley Field against the Cubs.

Quality start leads to eighth win
Mikolas (8-8) earned the win Sunday, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings against Atlanta. He struck out three.
Impact
Mikolas allowed single runs in the third and fifth but otherwise held Atlanta at bey in picking up his eighth win of the season. Mikolas had allowed a season-high four homers in his previous outing but rebounded by collecting his 12th quality start of the season and his third in four appearances. The veteran righty has been up and down this season with 10 outings of two or fewer runs allowed to go along with six appearances of five or more. He'll take an ERA of 5.02 and a WHIP of 1.23 into his next start, scheduled to take place in St. Louis against the Nationals.

Struggles with long ball
Mikolas (7-8) allowed six runs on eight hits and struck out two without walking a batter over 5.1 innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Cubs.
Impact
Four of the eight hits Mikolas allowed were homers, including two by Pete Crow-Armstrong. Prior to Sunday, Mikolas had allowed just one homer over his last six starts, though this was the fourth time this season he's given up multiple long balls. The veteran right-hander concludes the first half with a 5.13 ERA, which would be his worst in six seasons as a Cardinal, while adding a 1.22 WHIP and 77:18 K:BB through 112.1 innings through 20 starts.

Twirls gem for seventh win
Mikolas (7-7) earned the win Monday at Washington, allowing six hits with no walks over 6.2 scoreless innings. He struck out three.
Impact
The veteran right-hander posted his second scoreless outing and 11th quality start of the season with this 93-pitch performance. Mikolas allowed just one extra-base hit -- a double by Keibert Ruiz in the fourth -- working around five singles en route to his 61st career win. The 35-year-old now owns a 4.88 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 75:18 K:BB across 107 innings this season. He is currently not scheduled to make another start until after the All-Star break.

Quality start in no-decision
Mikolas came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Pirates, giving up two runs on five hits over six innings. He struck out four without walking a bat...
Impact
It was a vintage performance from the right-hander and a strong rebound from a 10-run disaster against the Reds his last time out. Mikolas delivered his 10th quality start of the season on an efficient 87 pitches (61 strikes) but left the mound on the hook for his eighth loss, until the Cards tied the game at 3-3 in the eighth inning. Even with last week's implosion, he sports a respectable 4.30 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 40:11 K:BB through 58.2 innings over his last 10 starts. Mikolas will look to get back in the win column in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week against the Nationals.

Settles in to earn win
Mikolas (6-6) earned the win against the Giants on Saturday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts over six innings.
Impact
Mikolas struggled early, allowing three runs in the first inning and another in the third. He bounced back with three perfect frames and departed with a 7-4 lead at the conclusion of the sixth. Mikolas broke a streak of five consecutive quality starts but was still able to earn his third victory in his past four starts. The 35-year-old now owns a 4.68 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 67:17 K:BB and lines up to face the Reds next week.

Third straight quality start
Mikolas (4-6) earned the win Wednesday over the Astros, allowing two runs on five hits over six innings. He struck out three.
Impact
Mikolas shut out Houston through his first four innings, ultimately allowing both runs on back-to-back solo homers to Yainer Diaz and Trey Cabbage in the fifth. While it's Mikolas' first win since May 12, the veteran right-hander has now delivered quality starts in three straight outings and five of his last seven starts. After a rough start to the year, Mikolas has lowered his ERA to 5.32 with a 1.28 WHIP and 53:14 K:BB across 71 innings. He'll look to build on his recent success in his next start, currently scheduled for early next week at home versus Pittsburgh.
