On track for Wednesday start Clevinger (biceps) is in line to rejoin the Padres' rotation for Wednesday's game against the Angels, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Impact Clevinger was slated to start Saturday against the Mariners, but he was ultimately scratched ahead of the outing with right biceps soreness. The injury doesn't seem to be a major concern, as Clevinger is on track to throw a bullpen session Monday. If all goes well, he should be able to make a start two days later, but the Padres could monitor his workload more carefully than normal in that outing with the postseason on the horizon.

Late scratch Saturday Clevinger was scratched from Saturday's scheduled start against the Mariners with biceps tightness, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Impact The 29-year-old has been experiencing the tightness since tossing seven shutout frames last weekend against the Giants, so he'll receive at least a couple more days of rest. The team hopes Clevinger is able to take the mound within the next few days, but his next start remains up in the air for now. Luis Patino will receive a spot start for the Friars in his place Saturday.

Shuts out Giants in Game 1 Clevinger (3-2) tossed seven shutout innings, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out seven in Sunday's win over the Giants in Game 1 of their doubleheader.

Impact Clevinger got through the outing with 99 pitches (62 strikes), and most importantly saved the bullpen in the first half of the twin bill.
