Shifts to injured list The Rangers placed Helman (hand) on the 10-day injured list Sunday.
Impact The 30-year-old was diagnosed with multiple fractures in his right hand after being hit by a pitch Saturday against the Red Sox, so the move to the IL is hardly a surprise. It's a literal tough break for Helman, who appeared set for increased playing time after Evan Carter (oblique) landed on the shelf earlier in the day. Alejandro Osuna was called up Sunday to bolster Texas' outfield depth.

Dealing with hand injury The Rangers announced that Helman has multiple fractures in his right hand, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact Helman will miss some time for Texas after being hit by a pitch, which caused multiple fractures in his right hand. After being called up on May 18, the 30-year-old has only recorded 31 plate appearances, slashing .179/.233/.321. It has yet to be determined who will replace Helman on the active roster.
JUNE 13 • ROTOWIRE
Exits after being hit by pitch Helman was removed from Saturday's game against the Red Sox after being hit on the hand by a pitch in the eighth inning, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact Helman started the contest in center field after Evan Carter landed on the injured list due to an oblique injury. Helman went 0-for-2 with a sacrifice fly in his first three plate appearances before being struck by a pitch on the right hand in the top of the eighth inning. Brandon Nimmo, who served as a pinch hitter following Helman's HBP, then remained in the game to play defense in the bottom of the frame while Helman departed. It's unclear at this point if Helman is dealing with a serious issue or if his exit was precautionary, but more information on his status should be coming soon.

Duran's RBI single lifts Rangers past Royals 7-6 on a 3-run ninth walk-off

Ezequiel Duran hit an opposite field RBI single to cap a three-run ninth inning as the Texas Rangers walked off the Kansas City Royals 7-6
MAY 30 • Associated Press
Starts at shortstop Helman batted ninth and went 0-for-3 in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Angels.
Impact The Rangers are coping with three infield injuries, which provides an opportunity for Helman, who filled in for shortstop Corey Seager (back, IL). Ezequiel Duran had been defending shortstop, but he was moved to third base with Josh Jung (shoulder) unavailable. Second baseman Josh Smith (lower body/wrist/illness) is also sidelined, and Justin Foscue has been the primary fill-in there. Helman has experience at all three positions.
MAY 25 • ROTOWIRE
Enters for injured teammate Helman entered Saturday's game in the fourth inning after Josh Jung (shoulder) was removed and went 1-for-2 with a walk and a double in a 5-2 loss to the Angels.
Impact Texas manager Skip Schumaker adjusted to the injury by moving shortstop Ezequiel Duran to third base and having Helman defend short. Depending on how Jung's shoulder responds, Helman could find himself somewhere in the starting lineup of Sunday's series finale. Since being called up from Triple-A Round Rock, Helman has gone 2-for-8 over four games.

Back in big leagues The Rangers recalled Helman from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.
Impact Helman has spent all of this season with Round Rock, where he's slashed just .198/.291/.344 in 37 tilts. The 29-year-old had some nice moments with the Rangers last season and could net some starts versus left-handers.

Fails to crack Opening Day roster Helman was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.
Impact Helman flashed some promise during spring training, slashing .233/.242/.575 with one home run, four RBI and two runs scored in 14 games, but he's slated to open the 2026 campaign at Triple-A following Monday's transaction. He hit .232 with five homers, 20 RBI, four stolen bases and 18 runs scored over 38 appearances a season ago for Texas, so he figures to be a candidate for a promotion later in the year.

Returns to action Sunday Helman (groin/hip) started in left field and went 0-for-1 with a strikeout Sunday in the Rangers' 9-5 win over the Rockies in Cactus League play.
Impact Helman had been scheduled to make his second start of the spring Saturday against the Cubs, but he was scratched from the lineup due to injury. The groin/hip issue was evidently a minor concern, given that the Rangers felt comfortable reinserting him into the lineup a day later. Helman will be competing for a utility job with the Rangers throughout the spring and could be deployed in the short side of a platoon if he ends up making Texas' Opening Day roster.
FEBRUARY 23 • ROTOWIRE
Scratched with minor injury Helman was scratched from Saturday's Cactus League game due to a groin/hip injury, Matthew Postins of SI.com reports.
Impact Helman's injury isn't considered serious, as his removal from the starting lineup was precautionary. Specifics regarding the injury are uncertain, but it's an issue in his groin or hip area. The 29-year-old appeared in 38 games last season with the Rangers, slashing .232/.290/.455 with five home runs and four stolen bases across 110 plate appearances.

Enters for injured teammate Helman entered Tuesday's game in sixth inning as a pinch hitter for Wyatt Langford (side) and finished 0-for-2 in a 4-1 loss to the Twins.
Impact Helman, who had started in center field the previous three games while Langford battled a side injury, opened the contest on the bench. Langford attempted to play while Texas still had faint playoff hopes, but the pain became too much, and he was eventually removed from the game. The loss eliminated the Rangers from the postseason, which might prompt the team to shut down Langford for the rest of the season. In that event, Helman could have steady role in the center field over the final five games.
SEPTEMBER 24, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Fills in for injured teammate Helman started in center field and went 0-for-4 in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Marlins.
Impact Helman entered the starting lineup, because Wyatt Langford (side) was unable to play. The Rangers are evaluating Langford and haven't established a timeline. Helman's lost playing time since Adolis Garcia returned to the active roster but could regain opportunities should Langford's injury force him to miss more games.
SEPTEMBER 20, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Playing time dwindling Helman is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Houston.
Impact Helman appears to be sliding back into a reserve role, as this is the third time over the last four games that he's been absent from the lineup. The Rangers will use Wyatt Langford in center field and Alejandro Osuna in left field Wednesday.
SEPTEMBER 17, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Taking seat Monday Helman is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros.
Impact Following a stretch of six consecutive starts during which he went 7-for-19 with two home runs, two doubles, one walk, nine RBI and three runs, Helman will open a second straight game on the bench while the Rangers match up with a right-handed starter (Jason Alexander). Despite not starting in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Mets in 10 innings, Helman still made an impact off the bench, going 1-for-2 with a run scored. Like he did in Sunday's game, Helman will be a candidate to pinch hit for starting left fielder Alejandro Osuna at some point in Monday's contest.

Mariners Are So Hot Right Now. But the Mets? Our MLB Contender Rankings!
Out of Sunday's lineup Helman is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.
Impact Helman's absence from the lineup ends a run of six straight starts, during which he went 7-for-19 with two doubles, two homers and nine RBI. Adolis Garcia (quadriceps) is making his return from the injured list Sunday, with Wyatt Langford and Alejandro Osuna rounding out Texas' outfield. Helman and Osuna are the likely candidates to see reduced playing time with Garcia now healthy, but both players have been productive of late, with Osuna carrying a .346 average in September.
