Impact Trades between division rivals are rare, but the Dodgers likely don't see Beaty as particularly useful given that they designated him for assignment last week. The Padres have a hole in left field, however, so it's not hard to see Beaty playing a significant role this season, potentially in a platoon with Jurickson Profar.
