Impact Boyd got off to a rocky start Wednesday, allowing a three-run homer to Joey Bart in the opening inning before walking in a fourth run in the second. It's the shortest outing of the year for Boyd, who's struggled a bit of late, posting a 6.54 ERA in his last six starts (31.2 innings). Overall, the left-hander is 13-8 with a 3.20 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 151:41 K:BB through 30 starts (174.1 innings) this season. Boyd will look to get back on track his next time out, tentatively scheduled for next week at home against the Mets.

Impact Boyd delivered his shortest start since Aug. 8 and surrendered at least four runs for the fourth time in his last five outings, but he was still able to build on his career-high win total. The left-hander had a 2.46 ERA through his first 24 starts of the year, but the recent stumble has seen that mark increase to 3.05. Still, it's been a career year for Boyd, whose previous career best in a season of more than 15 starts was a 4.39 ERA.

Impact Boyd gave up a run in the first and another in the fourth, with the latter tally coming on a Daylen Lile homer. That was enough to send him to the loss, as Chicago's offense managed just one run in the contest. Despite the defeat, this was Boyd's best outing in several weeks -- prior to Saturday, he had given up at least four runs in three straight starts. Boyd will carry a strong 2.92 season ERA into his next start, which is projected to take place at home against Tampa Bay next week.
