On way to big leagues The Rangers will recall Curvelo from Triple-A Round Rock prior to Friday's game against the Nationals, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Impact Curvelo has put up a 1.64 ERA and 25:7 K:BB over 22 innings with Round Rock this season and will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game. It's not clear what the corresponding roster move will be.

Optioned to minors camp The Rangers optioned Curvelo to minor-league camp Wednesday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Impact Curvelo received a major-league contract from the Rangers this winter even as he hasn't pitched above the Double-A level. He'll begin the 2025 season at Triple-A Round Rock after permitting five runs with a 6:3 K:BB across five frames this spring.

Gets MLB deal from Texas The Rangers signed Curvelo to a one-year contract Wednesday.

Impact Curvelo has yet to advance past the Double-A level, but he's netted a major-league deal after collecting a 2.57 ERA and 78:18 K:BB over 66.2 innings at Double-A Arkansas in the Mariners organization in 2024. The 24-year-old will probably begin the 2025 campaign back in the minors but has a shot to debut at some point during the season.
