Chris Paddack - Loses first start with Twins Paddack (0-1) allowed three earned runs on six hits and no walks while striking out three across four innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Dodgers.

Impact Paddack allowed all of his runs in the first two innings of the game, though he settled in to retire six of the final seven batters he faced. While Paddack took the loss in his first start with the Twins, he did not allow a home run or a walk, the former of which is particularly important given that he entered the game having surrendered 1.5 HR/9 across 308 career innings in the majors. The Twins are employing a six-man rotation to begin the season, so his starts will be limited. Paddack currently projects to take the mound Wednesday at Kansas City.

Austin Barnes - Displaying power early on Barnes went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout Wednesday against the Twins.

Impact Barnes was on the back end of three consecutive homers for the Dodgers in the eighth inning. He now was a pair of bombs early on this season, which is notable considering he only left the yard six times across 225 plate appearances in 2021. Barnes will yield the majority of the playing time behind the plate to Will Smith, though he's made the most of his opportunity early on in the campaign.

Max Muncy - Launches first homer Muncy went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and two walks Wednesday against the Twins.

Impact Muncy capped off a strong offensive day for the Dodgers by taking Griffin Jax yard in the ninth inning. It was only his second hit of the campaign -- and his first home run -- though he has also walked five times in only five games. Muncy has occupied the cleanup role in four of his five starts, so he should provide plentiful counting stats once his bat heats up.

Gavin Lux - Slugs first homer Lux went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and three strikeouts Wednesday against the Twins.

Impact Lux tallied his first long ball of the season in the middle of a trio of consecutive home runs for the Dodgers in the eighth inning. His lack of contact in other plate appearances was a bit alarming, but he had not struck out across his first four starts of the campaign. Overall, Lux has shown strong form early on, tallying six hits across 20 total plate appearances, while also recording two extra-base knocks.

Cody Bellinger - Goes yard Bellinger went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and a walk Wednesday against the Twins.

Impact Bellinger collected his first two extra-base hits of the season, knocking a double in the third frame followed by a solo home run five innings later. Though Bellinger has struck out at least once in four consecutive contests, he's also reached base in three straight starts. It has been an inconsistent beginning to the campaign for Bellinger, but he remains an everyday player in the potent Dodgers lineup and has shown flashes of being a strong fantasy contributor across the last few games.

Clayton Kershaw - Seven perfect innings Kershaw (1-0) did not allow a baserunner while striking out 13 across seven scoreless innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Twins.

Impact Kershaw made his long-awaited season debut, and he delivered a perfect game through seven innings. He racked up 20 swinging strikes across 80 total pitches, which helped him match his highest strikeout total since June 13 of the 2021 campaign. Though his pitch count was strictly limited and his velocity was down two mph on both his slider and curveball (per baseball savant), Kershaw delivered an excellent start to his 2022 campaign. He currently projects to return to the mound next Monday against Atlanta.
