Derek Hill - Starts up rehab assignment Hill began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, serving as the club's designated hitter and going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in a 6-5 loss to Syracuse in 11...
Impact Hill initially sprained his left wrist while making a diving catch in an April 8 game, but he continued playing with the Marlins for more than a week before being placed on the injured list April 18. After making it through workouts in recent days without issue, Hill was cleared for a rehab assignment, though it's not clear how long he'll remain with Jacksonville. The Marlins will presumably want to have Hill make at least one start in the outfield in the minors before bringing him back from the IL.
MAY 8 ROTOWIRE
James Outman - Smacks pinch hit homer Outman went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and a three-run home run in Wednesday's 10-1 win over the Marlins.
Impact Outman pinch hit for Max Muncy in the seventh hitting, with the former drawing a walk before being brought home on a Hyeseong Kim RBI single. Outman added to the Dodgers' lead in the ninth inning with a three-run homer to center field. It was his first major-league home run of the season, and the 27-year-old outfielder should continue to see playing time in the outfield while Teoscar Hernandez (adductor) is on the 10-day injured list.
MAY 8 ROTOWIRE
Freddie Freeman - Base-clearing triple vs. Miami Freeman went 3-for-4 with one run scored, one triple and four RBI in Wednesday's 10-1 win over the Marlins.
Impact Freeman got the Dodgers on the board in the sixth inning with an RBI single, and he added to the lead in the seventh frame with a bases-clearing RBI triple before being brought home by Andy Pages. Freeman has been on fire at the plate and is in the midst of a 12-game hitting streak, going 22-for-46 (.478) with 11 runs scored, four home runs and 18 RBI over that span.
MAY 8 ROTOWIRE
Landon Knack - Five scoreless frames in spot start Knack (2-0) earned the win against the Marlins on Wednesday, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out five across five scoreless innings.
Impact Knack was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City ahead of Wednesday's start. He ended up going five frames while tossing 75 pitches (49 strikes) and generating nine whiffs, and Matt Sauer finished things off for the Dodgers with a four-inning save. Knack now has a 4.61 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 12:7 K:BB across 13.2 innings, and he could stick around with the big club as a spot starter or bulk reliever.
MAY 8 ROTOWIRE
Valente Bellozo - Fans seven in no-decision Bellozo did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Dodgers, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out seven over 5.1 innings.
Impact Bellozo faced the minimum number of batters in three innings Wednesday, generating 10 whiffs on 76 pitches (44 strikes). He was lifted in the sixth inning to avoid a third matchup against the top of the Dodgers' lineup. It ended up backfiring, as Cade Gibson gave up the first run of the game and the Marlins' bullpen ceded 10 runs. Wednesday may have been Bellozo's last turn in the rotation if Ryan Weathers (forearm) is activated from the 15-day injured list.
