Edwin Ríos - Transferred to 60-day IL Rios (hamstring) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.
Impact Rios sustained a right hamstring tear in early June and will be ineligible to return from the injured list until at least early August following Wednesday's transaction. A clear timetable for his return hasn't yet been revealed.

Elly De La Cruz - Soaring in High-A De La Cruz has a .303/.353/.584 line with 12 homers and 18 steals over 56 games for High-A Dayton.
Impact That terrific batting line is accompanied by a not-so-terrific 16:71 BB:K. That said, he's just 20 years old with plenty of room for continued skill growth -- and for what it's worth, he's put up a 6:7 BB:K (not to mention two homers, two doubles, a triple and three steals) in his last eight games. If he can maintain something resembling that level of plate discipline, it'll certainly take a lot of the volatility out of his prospect profile.

Alexis Díaz - Plays catch Wednesday Diaz (biceps) played catch Wednesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact Diaz was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to right biceps tendinitis, but it's encouraging to see him throwing off flat ground several days after the transaction. Although biceps tendinitis can sometimes lead to more serious issues, the right-hander has made good progress early in his IL stint and doesn't currently appear to be dealing with a particularly severe injury.

Tyler Stephenson - Ditches cast Reds manager David Bell said Wednesday that Stephenson no longer needs a cast to protect his fractured right thumb, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact Though the skipper noted Stephenson is "healing properly," the backstop remains without a clear timeline to resume baseball activities. When he first sustained the thumb injury June 9, Stephenson was projected to miss 4-to-6 weeks, so fantasy managers shouldn't count on him returning from the 10-day injured list until shortly before the All-Star break in a best-case scenario.

Eddy Alvarez - Makes third straight start Alvarez will start in right field and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Reds, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Impact Following Mookie Betts' (rib) placement on the 10-day injured list Sunday, Alvarez will pick up his third consecutive start in right field. At least for the time being, the Dodgers appear content to lean on the switch-hitting Alvarez to handle the strong-side of a platoon in right field, though he could give way to Trayce Thompson against left-handed pitching.
