Reid Detmers - Starting on Saturday Detmers will start the Angels' final game of the first half on Saturday against the Dodgers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact It's Tyler Anderson's turn, but the Angels are off Sunday and would rather have Anderson available in relief, if needed. The matchup for Detmers is a difficult one, but he's been on a roll over his last five starts with a 1.42 ERA and 43:10 K:BB in 31.2 innings. One of his outings during that stretch came against the Dodgers, as he blanked them for seven frames back on June 20.

Tyler Anderson - Available in relief Anderson will be available in relief for the Angels until the All-Star break, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact The Angels need just two starters before the break and they believe Anderson is better suited for relief, if needed, than Griffin Canning or Reid Detmers. It's been a disappointing start to Anderson's tenure in Anaheim, with the lefty posting a 5.20 ERA in 15 starts.

Anthony Rendon - Could return on Friday Rendon (shin) could return to the Angels' lineup as soon as Friday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact Rendon is not in Wednesday's lineup after fouling a ball off his left shin Tuesday. The Halos aren't putting him on the injured list yet, though, because he could be ready after the off day Thursday. Rendon will be evaluated the next two days and if it's determined he does need to go on the IL, he'd be eligible to return the second game after the All-Star break.
