Impact In his last time on the mound Saturday in Seattle, Barria worked 4.2 innings as a starter for the first game of a doubleheader. Though the Angels still had a vacancy in their rotation this week, interim manager Phil Nevin opted to give Touki Toussaint the start, while Barria was available in the bullpen. Barria was able to deliver a strong showing in long relief, and Toussaint (six strikeouts over five shutout innings) likely performed well enough to stick around as the Angels' No. 6 starter for at least one more turn through the rotation.

Tucker Davidson - Draws another start Davidson is scheduled to start Sunday's home game against the Twins, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Impact Despite issuing five walks and allowing six earned runs over four innings in his Angels debut last weekend in Seattle, Davidson will receive a second turn through the rotation. Even dating back to his time with Atlanta earlier this season, Davidson has struggled to consistently find the strike zone, as he posted a 17.6 percent walk rate in 15.1 innings over his other four appearances in the majors prior to being dealt to the Angels at the trade deadline. Until he shows improved control, the left-hander will be difficult to trust as a streaming option in the majority of fantasy leagues.

Austin Pruitt - Takes first loss Wednesday Pruitt (0-1) took the loss in extra innings against the Angels on Wednesday, allowing an unearned run on one hit over one inning.

Impact Pruitt needed only nine pitches to get through his one frame, but he allowed a go-ahead RBI double to Magneuris Sierra that plated inning-opening runner Steven Duggar with what turned out to be the winning run. The right-hander has had a rocky second half thus far, posting a 9.00 ERA and 1.75 WHIP in four innings across five appearances.

Ramón Laureano - Three-hit effort in loss Laureano went 3-for-4 with an RBI infield single and was caught stealing on his only attempt in an extra-innings loss to the Angels on Wednesday.

Impact Laureano's 10th-inning infield single plated Skye Bolt and knotted the game at 4-4 at the time. The outfielder came into the game mired in a brief 1-for-17 slump, and the three-hit effort was only his second of what has been an underwhelming season that's seen him generate a .225 average and .304 on-base percentage across 81 games.

Tony Kemp - Drives in three Kemp went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and three RBI Wednesday against the Angels.

Impact Kemp was one of the few sources of offense for the Athletics on Wednesday, as he came to the plate with the bases loaded in the seventh inning and managed a bases-clearing double. Since the All-Star break, Kemp has hit .283 with 11 RBI and five runs scored across 52 plate appearances. He should remain a regular in Oakland's lineup against right-handed pitching, but overall he has just a 77 wRC+ and .269 wOBA in 101 games for the season.

Luis Rengifo - Slugs three-run homer Rengifo went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run Wednesday against the Athletics.

Impact Rengifo took Sam Moll yard in the sixth inning for his sixth homer of the season. He has quietly been productive since July 10, homering twice with 14 RBI and 11 runs scored in 26 games. For the season, Rengifo has posted a respectable 105 wRC+ and .316 wOBA across 300 plate appearances.
