Konnor Pilkington - Locked in for another start Pilkington is scheduled to start the second game of Saturday's doubleheader with the Twins, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Impact He'll be getting his second start of the week after he worked five innings while giving up four earned runs on three hits and three walks in a no-decision against the Angels on Monday. Pilkington is likely to head to the bullpen or to Triple-A Columbus following Saturday's outing, as Aaron Civale (forearm) looks to be trending toward a return from the 15-day injured list next week and would presumably take back his rotation spot from the rookie left-hander.

Zach Plesac - Begins throwing again Plesac (hand) was cleared to play catch from 90 feet last Friday and is expected to begin doing more baseball activities in the coming days, MLB.com reports.
Impact Plesac was able to take the first meaningful step forward in his recovery from the fractured right hand after getting the green light from a specialist last week to start throwing again. Manager Terry Francona said that Plesac will be re-examined every six or seven days before advancing to the next phase of his rehab regimen, so he's likely still at least two weeks away from being at a point where he would be ready to pitch in a competitive setting. Due to the nature of his injury and the timing of his placement on the injured list, Plesac might not have enough time to get fully stretched out for a starting role and could be deployed out of the bullpen initially whenever he's activated.

Aaron Civale - Rehab appearance on tap Civale (forearm) will make a rehab appearance at Triple-A Columbus on Thursday, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Impact Civale hopes to return from the injured list Sept. 20 against the White Sox, but he'll have a tune-up in the minors prior to getting the green light for activation. Assuming the right-hander feels good following Thursday's outing, he'll be pitching on normal rest against the White Sox if he's activated when first eligible.
