Impact Diaz was unable to carve out a depth role on the major-league roster after he went 1-for-8 with a double, two walks and a strikeout across four Grapefruit League appearances this spring. He'll begin the year in the minors after slashing .248/.327/.518 with 20 homers, 52 runs, 51 RBI and two stolen bases in Jacksonville last season.

Impact Diaz's fourth-inning blast off Marcus Stroman accounted for the Marlins' only runs in the first game of the twin bill.
