Impact Wright will make his season debut Tuesday night versus the Reds after rehabbing a shoulder injury. The right-hander's velocity was down during his lone rehab start and he allowed five runs over six frames, so fantasy managers might want to keep him benched for his first outing.

Impact It was reported earlier in the day that Wright remained on track to make his season debut Tuesday, and this news simply confirms his return. The right-hander posted a 3.19 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with a 174:53 K:BB across 180.1 frames a season ago.

Impact Atlanta hasn't yet confirmed that Wright will take the hill Tuesday, but he's back with the big club after covering six innings and striking out six while allowing five earned runs in his rehab start with Triple-A Gwinnett last Wednesday. Though Atlanta might have wanted to see a slightly better result from Wright in the rehab outing, his right shoulder seems to have checked out fine following the start, and perhaps most importantly, he was able to stretch out to 84 pitches. Even if he's still a bit rusty coming off the injury, Wright's addition should be a welcome one for an Atlanta rotation that's without ace Max Fried (hamstring) and has gotten poor results overall from young arms Dylan Dodd and Jared Shuster thus far.

Impact A grand slam by Ryan O'Hearn accounted for most of the damage off the right-hander, but the fact that Wright was able to stretch out to 84 pitches (53 strikes) and generate some strikeouts are encouraging signs. He got a late start to camp after getting a cortisone injection in his shoulder in January, but Wright appears to be on track to get activated from the injured list when first eligible, potentially joining the Atlanta rotation April 11 for a home start against the Reds.

Wright was given a cortisone injection back in January to combat soreness in his right shoulder and simply ran out of time in getting ramped up for the season. He's now back on a normal four-day rest schedule and built up to four innings in his second outing of the spring Saturday versus the Twins, but Wright has looked rusty between the two starts, yielding seven runs on 10 hits and one walk while striking out four over 6.2 innings. Rather than rushing him to be ready for the start of the season, Atlanta will give Wright more time to build up his pitch count and hone his command. He's scheduled to make a minor-league spring training start this coming Thursday and then one final tune-up rehab start for Triple-A Gwinnett on April 4 before slotting back into Atlanta's rotation at some point during its second home series of the season April 10 through 12 versus the Reds.
