'I’ve got to pitch with what I’ve got this year ..... I’ve got to find a way to get outs.'

Gives up three homers
Wright (0-3) allowed four runs on five hits and four walks over four innings Monday, striking out five and taking a loss against the Phillies.
Impact
Wright was tagged with three home runs in the short outing, including Johan Rojas' two-run shot in the second inning. Wright has coughed up 10 runs in seven innings since returning from the injured list the month. He now owns a 7.71 ERA through 25.2 frames on the year. Wright is currently projected to start in Washington this weekend.

Struggles in return
Wright (0-2) took the loss Monday, allowing six runs on six hits and two walks over three innings in a 7-5 loss to the Phillies. He struck out three.
Impact
It was a tough night for Wright, who was tagged for four runs in the opening inning en route to a loss in his first start since May 3. The 27-year-old Wright needed 62 pitches to make it through just three innings, though he was likely on a pitch count anyway after missing over four months with a shoulder strain. Wright now sports a 7.48 ERA with a 1.89 WHIP and 23:12 K:BB through six starts (21.2 innings) this season. He'll look to get on track in his next start, currently lined up for this weekend in Miami.

Draws start for Game 2 of twin bill
Atlanta reinstated Wright (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list and will have the right-hander start the second game of Monday's doubleheader with the Phillies, Mark Bowman of ML...
Impact
As anticipated, Wright will rejoin Atlanta to make his sixth start of the season and his first since May 3 after an extended absence due to a right shoulder strain. Wright made three rehab starts in the minors prior to being activated and looked sharp his last time out last Tuesday at Triple-A Gwinnett, striking out seven while giving up one hit and two walks over 3.2 scoreless innings. Since he tossed just 50 pitches in that start, Wright's workload will likely be restricted Monday.

With team in Philadelphia
Wright (shoulder) is with Atlanta for the team's doubleheader in Philadelphia on Monday, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Impact
The club has yet to announce who will start the second game of the doubleheader after Spencer Strider (illness) was pushed back, but all signs point to it being Wright. The 27-year-old's last rehab start with Triple-A Gwinnett came on Sept. 5 and he threw just 50 pitches over 3.2 innings, so he would have an abbreviated workload Monday, assuming he is indeed the starter for the nightcap.

Potential option for Monday
Wright (shoulder) could be an option to start Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader against the Phillies, Mark Bowman of MLB.comreports.
Impact
Spencer Strider's turn through the rotation was pushed back a couple days due to an illness, which could prompt Atlanta to bring back Wright during the twin bill. The 32-year-old made his last rehab start Sept. 5 for Triple-A Gwinnett and indicated he needed one more outing in the minors before rejoining the big club, but Strider's ailment could prompt a change of plan. Wright threw just 50 pitches and 3.2 innings during that start, so he won't take on a full workload if activated.

At least one more rehab start
Wright (shoulder) said Wednesday that he expects to make at least one more minor-league rehab start, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Impact
Wright tallied seven strikeouts and yielded just one hit over 3.2 scoreless innings Tuesday with Triple-A Gwinnett, but it was only a 50-pitch outing and he'll need to be stretched out a bit more before becoming an option again for Atlanta's rotation. The 27-year-old right-hander has been on the major-league injured list since early May because of a shoulder strain.

Lacks efficiency in rehab start
Wright (shoulder) tossed 1.2 innings and struck out one while allowing three runs on three hits and two walks in his rehab start Wednesday with Triple-A Gwinnett.
Impact
After allowing just one baserunner and recording four strikeouts over three innings in his first rehab outing Aug. 24 with High-A Rome, Wright took a step back in terms of performance while shifting his assignment to Atlanta's top minor-league affiliate. He spotted just 15 of his 31 offerings for strikes, throwing one wild pitch in addition to issuing the two free passes. The right-hander has been on the shelf since early May with a shoulder strain and will probably need at least two more rehab outings to get stretched back out before he's a viable option to rejoin the Atlanta rotation.

Moves rehab to Triple-A
Wright (shoulder) will move his rehab assignment from High-A Rome to Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.
Impact
Wright made his first appearance at any level since May 3 this past Thursday with Rome, kicking off his rehab assignment with three scoreless innings while striking out four and allowing just one baserunner. He tossed 26 pitches in that outing and may be looking to push closer to the 40-to-45-pitch range Wednesday. Wright will presumably need at least one or two more rehab outings following Wednesday's start to get stretched back out for a traditional starter's workload before Atlanta is comfortable bringing him back from the 60-day injured list.

Impact
Wright appeared in a game for the first time since May 3 and looked sharp across 26 pitches. He'll likely be in line for a couple more rehab appearances to build up his pitch count and knock off some of the rust, though this was an encouraging first step.

Cleared for rehab assignment
Wright (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment Thursday with High-A Rome, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Impact
Wright's right shoulder checked out fine during his recent live batting practice sessions, so he'll advance to the final phase of his recovery program by heading to the minors for what will likely be a multi-start rehab assignment between multiple affiliates. His upcoming outing with Rome will be his first since May 3, so he may be tasked with covering just two or three innings as he begins the buildup process. Barring any setbacks, Wright should be ready to return from the 60-day injured list in early-to-mid-September, but it's unclear if Atlanta will have a rotation spot available for him once he's reinstated.

Throwing live batting practice
Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said Monday that Wright (shoulder) has advanced to throwing live batting practice, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Wright resumed throwing off a mound in late July and has steadily progressed over the last couple of weeks. The 27-year-old right-hander has been limited to 18.2 major-league innings (five starts) this season because of shoulder issues, but he could be an option again for the NL East leaders around early September if all continues to go well. The next step after a few more live BP sessions would be a minor-league rehab assignment.

Begins mound work
Wright (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Friday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Impact
It's his first time throwing off a mound since he suffered a right shoulder strain back in early May. Wright remains hopeful of an early-September return to Atlanta's rotation, although he certainly will have plenty of markers to hit before that picture becomes clearer.

ROTOWIRE
Not expected before September
Wright (shoulder) is not expected to be an option for Atlanta until early September, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Sometime in August had been viewed as a rough timetable for the right-hander, but it's going to be a bit longer than that. Wright hasn't had a setback, but the club just wants to be extra cautious as he works his way back from a right shoulder strain. Wright is expected to begin throwing shortened bullpen sessions early next week and then regular bullpen sessions by the end of next week.

ROTOWIRE
Nearing mound work
Wright (shoulder) is close to being cleared to throw off a mound, Grant McAuley of 92.9 FM The Game reports.
Impact
Wright has been sidelined for two months with a strained right shoulder but has been doing flat-ground throwing for the past month. He figures to need multiple bullpen sessions before facing hitters at least a couple times and eventually going out on a rehab assignment, so there's still plenty of work to be done. Still, progressing to mound work is certainly a major step.
