INJURIES

Handed 10th loss Freeland (2-10) allowed five runs on six hits and a walk while striking out two over 5.1 innings to take the loss versus the Brewers on Sunday.
Impact Freeland has reverted to poor form lately, allowing 19 runs over 22.1 innings over his last four starts, three of which have come on the road. He has a 17:3 K:BB in that span, but he's also given up five home runs. For the season, the southpaw has a 7.34 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 85:21 K:BB through 99.1 innings over 19 starts. His 7.7 K/9 is one of the better marks of his career and his 1.9 BB/9 is his best, but a 1.9 HR/9 has largely held him back, resulting in a career-worst ERA. Freeland's next start is projected to be at home versus the Royals.

Charged with ninth loss Freeland (2-9) took the loss Monday, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings against the Nationals. He struck out four.
Impact Freeland was tagged early, surrendering a three-run homer to Andres Chaparro before recording an out in the first inning. The southpaw was able to grind through six innings, though he couldn't avoid being charged with his ninth loss of the season. Freeland has allowed multiple runs in each of his past 15 starts dating back to April. The veteran hurler will take a 7.28 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 83:20 K:BB across 94 innings (18 starts) into his next outing, tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Brewers.

Mixed results in eighth loss Freeland (2-8) took the loss Saturday against the Giants, allowing four runs on six hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out nine.
Impact Freeland was working on producing one of his best starts of the season, as he did fan a season-high nine, but Casey Schmitt launched a three-run home run in the sixth inning to leave a big dent on the hurler's line. The 33-year-old left-hander still turned in his fourth outing of the year with at least six frames, but he's now given up multiple runs in 13 consecutive appearances. Freeland has struggled to offer much fantasy viability in 2026, posting a career-worst 7.36 ERA and 1.57 WHIP despite an otherwise encouraging 79:18 K:BB over 88 innings.

Mahle gets first win since April and Schmitt hits go-ahead, 3-run homer as Giants beat Rockies 4-2

Tyler Mahle won for the first time since mid-April, Casey Schmitt hit a tiebreaking three-run homer in the sixth inning and the San Francisco Giants beat the Colorado Rockies 4-2

Drilled by Dodgers Freeland allowed six runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out two batters over five innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Monday.
Impact Freeland kept Los Angeles out of the scoring column for two frames until Shohei Ohtani tagged him for a two-run homer in the third. That began a rough stretch for the left-handed hurler, who gave up four more runs on five hits in the fourth. Freeland departed after five innings in line for the loss, but a late Colorado rally took him off the hook. Nonetheless, it was the third time across Freeland's past five starts that he's surrendered six runs, and he's posted an ugly 6.83 ERA with a 1.45 WHIP despite a sterling 25:2 K:BB over that span.

Strikes out seven in win Freeland (2-7) allowed two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out seven over five innings to earn the win over the Marlins on Wednesday.
Impact Freeland put together a decent showing and exited at 85 pitches (55 strikes). The Rockies' bullpen managed to hold the lead, allowing Freeland to come away with his first win since April 7 versus the Astros. He posted a 6.67 ERA over 29.2 innings in June, which was actually an improvement compared to May. Overall, the veteran left-hander has a 7.25 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 68:18 K:BB through 77 innings over 15 starts this season. Freeland's next outing is projected to be a tough one on the road versus the Dodgers early next week.

Thrashed in no-decision Freeland took a no-decision Wednesday against the Red Sox, allowing six runs on 11 hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out four.
Impact Freeland was hit hard Wednesday, giving up a staggering eight extra-base hits (two home runs). The 33-year-old southpaw has been knocked around for double-digit hits three times already this year, and he's now surrendered at least six runs on six occasions as well. Freeland has a disastrous 7.50 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 61:17 K:BB across 72 innings, making him a mostly unappealing fantasy option for his next scheduled start at home versus the Marlins.

Fans eight in strong showing Freeland didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Pirates after tossing 7.1 innings of two-run ball, allowing four hits and striking out eight.
Impact Freeland was coming off a subpar outing the last time out when he allowed six runs on 10 hits over 5.2 innings to take the loss against the Athletics on June 13, but he bounced back admirably here and posted his second quality start of the season. Freeland is capable of posting strong numbers from time to time, but for the most part, he's struggled and has given up 17 runs (16 earned) on 28 hits across 23.2 innings pitched in June. That translates to a 6.08 ERA, but that's actually lower than his season-long ERA of 7.36 across 13 starts (66 innings). He's projected to make his next start at home against the Red Sox.

Struggles against Athletics Freeland (1-7) allowed six runs on 10 hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 5.2 innings to take the loss versus the Athletics on Saturday.
Impact Freeland has now allowed at least six runs in six of his 12 starts. This was the third time he avoided walking a batter, and he gave up only one home run, so it could have been worse. The veteran southpaw continues to struggle in 2026 with a 7.98 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 49:16 K:BB over 58.2 innings. Freeland is projected to make his next start at home versus the Pirates.

Sets franchise milestone Sunday Freeland took a no-decision Sunday against Milwaukee, surrendering three runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out two across five innings
Impact Freeland appeared on track for one of his better outings of the season after holding Milwaukee to just one run through five innings, but back-to-back hits to open the sixth inning ended his day. The inherited runner he left on base eventually came around to score as the Brewers erupted for seven runs in the frame. The outing was still a memorable one for the veteran left-hander, as he raised his career innings total to 1,313.1 to become the Rockies' all-time franchise leader in innings pitched. Unfortunately, the milestone comes amid a difficult season, as Freeland now owns a 7.81 ERA and 1.70 WHIP across 53 innings. A home start scheduled next against the Athletics offers little fantasy appeal at the moment, with both his command and ability to miss bats continuing to trend in the wrong direction.
