INJURIES

Coming back from IL on Monday The Rockies are expected to reinstate Bryant (finger) from the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday's game against the Cubs, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Impact Bryant has missed the Rockies' last 45 games while recovering from a fractured finger on his left hand, but after taking batting practice last week and incorporating full baseball activities into his training regimen, he looks like he'll be ready to rejoin the lineup without requiring a minor-league rehab assignment beforehand. When healthy this season, Bryant has made starts either in right field or designated hitter, but Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette suggests the 31-year-old may also get some exposure to left field and first base down the stretch.

Takes batting practice on field Bryant (finger) took batting practice on the field Monday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Impact It's the first time he's done so since suffering a fractured left index finger in late July. There remains no timetable for Bryant's return to the Rockies' lineup, but he should make it back at some point later this month if all goes well. When he does return, Bryant could see some action at first base in addition to the outfield.

Set to shed splint Bryant will have the splint removed from his broken finger, Kelsey Wingert-Linch of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain reports.
Impact Bryant underwent an X-ray Monday, and it was determined that he is ready to shed the splint he has been sporting on his finger since late July. The Rockies will see how he responds before determining the next step in his recovery.

Could play first base upon return Rockies manager Bud Black said Wednesday that Bryant (finger) could "potentially" play some first base upon his return, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports.
Impact "Potentially. Yeah," Black said. "One of Kris' advantages as a player - this is well documented when he was with the Cubs - is he played all over." Bryant has only played the outfield in his two seasons in Colorado, but as his skipper alluded to, he's got plenty of past experience at third and first base. The Rockies are using some young players at all three outfield spots and also first base currently, so it would make some sense for Bryant to bounce around to different positions in an effort to give everyone reps. It will be a moot point for a while, though, as Bryant appears to still be a month or so away from returning.

In splint two more weeks Bryant will remain in a splint for a couple more weeks after undergoing a checkup X-ray on his fractured left index finger Monday, Kelsey Wingert-Linch of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Moun...
Impact The fracture hasn't healed as quickly as hoped and Bryant can now probably be ruled out through at least mid-September given that he won't be able to resume baseball activities until at least late August. The 31-year-old has appeared in only 65 games this season for the Rockies after also being limited to just 42 games in 2022.

Impact Bryant was placed on the 10-day injured list July 25 due to the broken finger on his glove hand, and while he continues to wear the splint, he doesn't look as though he'll be able to do much in the way of baseball activities. Bryant is without a clear timeline to return to the field in what's shaping up to be another disappointing, injury-marred season in Colorado for the 31-year-old, who is in the second year of a seven-year, $182 contract.

Diagnosed with fractured finger Colorado placed Bryant on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a fractured left index finger, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Impact Bryant was originally diagnosed with a contusion when he took a pitch off his hand Saturday in Miami, but further imaging conducted early this week revealed the fracture. It's unclear how long he might be sidelined. Elehuris Montero is joining the Rockies in a corresponding roster move ahead of Tuesday's game in Washington. Randal Grichuk will start in right field.

Out again Tuesday Bryant (finger) is out of the lineup again Tuesday versus the Nationals.
Impact Randal Grichuk will start in right field and Jurickson Profar will serve as the Rockies' designated hitter. Bryant has been sidelined since taking a pitch off his right index finger Saturday in Miami, but X-rays came back negative and he is expected to avoid the injured list.

Out again Monday Bryant (finger) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.
Impact Bryant has now missed two straight starts after having to leave Saturday's game versus the Marlins following a hit by pitch to his right index finger. He's dealing with a contusion and is listed as day-to-day. Nolan Jones will occupy right field in Bryant's absence.
JULY 24, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Not starting Sunday Bryant (finger) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Miami, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Impact The veteran outfielder exited Saturday's contest after being hit by a pitch on his finger, and he'll miss at least one game as a result. Bryant had X-rays come back negative and appears to have avoided a serious injury, though he could still be unavailable for a few days. Nolan Jones will man right field Sunday for Colorado.
JULY 23, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Exits after pitch hits finger Bryant exited Saturday's game against the Marlins after getting hit in his finger by a pitch, but his X-rays were negative, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Impact Bryant seems to have avoided serious injury, but he could still wind up missing a few days. The Rockies owe him $130 million over the next five seasons and are nowhere close to the playoff race, so they have every reason to be cautious. Bryant has just three hits in seven games since the break, so he could probably use a day off anyway.
JULY 22, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
In Friday's lineup Bryant (forearm) is playing right field and batting second on Friday in Miami.
Impact Bryant had to depart Wednesday's contest versus the Astros after he was hit on the forearm by a pitch, but X-rays came back clean and he's ready to roll following the Rockies' off day Thursday. The 31-year-old has popped three home runs in his first 12 games this month.
JULY 21, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
X-rays clean on forearm X-rays came back negative on Bryant's forearm after he was hit by a pitch in Wednesday's loss to the Astros, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.
Impact Bryant made an early exit, but it sounds like he'll be fine for the Rockies' three-game weekend series in Miami following a scheduled team off day Thursday. He finished 0-for-2 with the HBP on Wednesday and is slashing .254/.332/.383 through 268 plate appearances this year with Colorado.
JULY 19, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Showing improved power Bryant went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Tuesday against the Astros.
Impact Bryant took Hunter Brown deep in the first inning, marking his eighth homer of the season. After going deep only five times across his first 204 at-bats of the campaign, Bryant has now tallied three long balls in his last nine games and 34 at-bats. He still has a career-low .131 ISO for the season.
JULY 19, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Goes deep in win Bryant went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 7-2 win over the Yankees.
Impact Bryant padded the Rockies' lead with his seventh-inning blast. He's gone 9-for-32 (.281) in July, hitting safely in seven of his eight games this month. The 31-year-old battled a heel injury during the first half, so staying healthy will be a key for him going forward. Bryant is slashing .261/.337/.385 with seven homers, 21 RBI, 26 runs scored, seven doubles and no stolen bases over 59 contests this season.
JULY 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Launches first homer since return Bryant went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-1 loss against the Astros.
Impact Bryant accounted for the lone run scored by Colorado on Tuesday, breaking the shutout in the ninth inning with a solo home run off Ryne Stanek. The long ball was his first since returning from a heel injury that sidelined him for a month and broke a homer drought of 21 games, his longest dry spell of the season. Since being reinstated from the IL, Bryant is batting 5-for-18 (.277) with 2 RBI and has now logged back-to-back multi-hit performances.
JULY 5, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Hitless in return Bryant (heel) went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Friday's 8-5 win over the Tigers.
Impact Bryant was able to play the full game in right field, but he was one of two Rockies to fail to record a hit. He missed a month while dealing with an injured left heel, which may require occasional maintenance days going forward. He went just 4-for-35 (.114) across the 10 games before his absence, so Bryant will need to get his bat going to avoid losing playing time for performance reasons.

Rockies activate Kris Bryant after a month on the injured list with a left heel bruise

Colorado activated Kris Bryant before the Rockies' game against the Detroit Tigers on Friday, a month after the outfielder was placed on the injured list with a left heel bruise
JUNE 30, 2023 • Associated Press
Activated, starting Friday Bryant (heel) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and is starting in right field Friday versus Detroit.
Impact Bryant will be back in the lineup for the first time since late May after a prolonged stint on the IL with a heel injury. He appeared in one game with Triple-A Albuquerque, going 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored while striking out twice Thursday. Prior to getting hurt, Bryant had produced a .263 average with five homers, 17 RBI and 21 runs scored over 50 games and he will bat second in his return Friday against the Tigers.
