Ready for rehab assignment Rojas (elbow) has been sent to Triple-A St. Paul to begin a rehab assignment, Aaron Gleeman of AaronGleeman.com reports.
Impact Rojas has been shelved since late May with left elbow inflammation, but he's made enough progress in order to be cleared to pitch in rehab games. How long Rojas' rehab assignment lasts could depend on what role the Twins have planned for him when he returns. He's made one start for Minnesota this season and has gone multiple innings in all four of his relief appearances.

Bullpen session scheduled Rojas (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Impact Rojas was cleared to begin throwing last week, and he's now been cleared to do so off the mound as the next step in his recovery from elbow inflammation. He'll start off by throwing about 25 pitches and look to build up his workload during later mound sessions.

Could start throwing this week Rojas (elbow) could begin throwing as soon as Tuesday or Wednesday, reports Dan Hayes of The Athletic.
Impact After landing on the 15-day IL on Friday with an elbow injury, Rojas is already starting to feel better. If he is cleared by Twins doctors, the 23-year-old can begin throwing again as soon as Tuesday or Wednesday. In 14.1 innings, Rojas recorded a 1.26 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 14:10 K:BB.

Lands on IL with elbow inflammation The Twins optioned Rojas to Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.
Impact Rojas had been in line to start Thursday's game against the White Sox but had to be scratched due to what was called posterior elbow soreness at the time. The soreness being on the outside of the elbow suggests Rojas' UCL is likely fine, though the left-hander could nevertheless be looking at an extended absence.

Scratched from start Rojas will not start against the White Sox on Thursday due to posterior elbow soreness, reports Dan Hayes of The Athletic.
Impact Rojas was slated to start his second game of the season but will instead be scratched due to the injury. Simeon Woods Richardson will take his place as the starter for the series finale against the White Sox. It is unclear yet whether this will lead to an injured list stint for Rojas.
MAY 28 • ROTOWIRE
Re-entering rotation Thursday Rojas is slated to start Thursday's game against the White Sox at Rate Field, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
Impact The Twins had previously been listing Taj Bradley as their starter for Thursday, but he'll instead be pushed back to Friday in Pittsburgh while the team temporarily expands its rotation to six men in order to make room for Rojas. Since being recalled from Triple-A St. Paul on May 10, Rojas has made four appearances (three starts) and has logged a 1.46 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 14:7 K:BB across 12.1 innings. Rojas hasn't tossed more than four frames or 60 pitches in any of his appearances with Minnesota this season, so he could struggle to reach the five innings he would need to qualify for a win. The Twins have Simeon Woods Richardson available out of the bullpen as a fresh arm capable of covering multiple innings once Rojas exits the game.
MAY 28 • ROTOWIRE
Shifts back to bullpen Rojas struck out three and allowed one hit and one walk over three scoreless frames en route to collecting his first hold of the season in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Red Sox.
Impact The 23-year-old lefty had tossed four scoreless innings in his first MLB start May 18 against the Astros, but he was part of the rotation only for a short-term basis. Taj Bradley was reinstated from the 15-day injured list and worked the first five innings of Saturday's contest, with Rojas entering the game behind him and helping the Twins maintain their three-run lead.

Last Night in Baseball: Unreal Ending To Athletics-Angels
Looks good across four innings Rojas didn't factor into the decision Monday against the Astros, allowing two hits and one walk with three strikeouts across four scoreless innings.
Impact Minnesota slotted Rojas into the rotation in place of a struggling Simeon Woods Richardson, and the 23-year-old left-hander displayed plus stuff, generating 10 whiffs on 46 total pitches and averaged 96.0 mph with his fastball. The rookie should get another turn through the rotation after his strong showing Monday. Through his first 11.1 innings this season, Rojas owns a 1.59 ERA and 11:9 K:BB.

Josh Bell homers twice as Twins beat Astros 6-3 in game delayed nearly 2 hours by rain

Josh Bell homered twice and drove in four runs as the Minnesota Twins beat the Houston Astros 6-3
MAY 19 • Associated Press
Making first MLB start Monday Rojas is slated to start Monday's game against the Astros at Target Field, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
Impact The Twins will slot Rojas into the rotation spot that belonged to Simeon Woods Richardson, who may have been moved to the bullpen after logging a 7.71 ERA and 1.86 WHIP over his first nine starts of the season. Rojas has worked as a starter for most of his minor-league career but made all but one of his five appearances for Triple-A St. Paul out of the bullpen before being called back up to the majors earlier this month. Since Rojas hasn't covered more than 3.1 innings in an appearance at any level this season and will be pitching Monday on three days' rest, he likely won't be asked to cover the five innings he would need to hit to qualify for a win. Minnesota could end up turning to Woods Richardson for multiple innings out of the bullpen once Rojas exits the game.
MAY 18 • ROTOWIRE
Earns win in bulk-relief role Rojas (1-0) was credited with the win during Sunday's game against the Guardians. He allowed one run on five hits and three walks while striking out five across 3.1 innings.
Impact Rojas entered Sunday's game in the second inning after Andrew Morris logged a scoreless first frame on just six pitches. Rojas was able to hold his own, tossing 34 strikes on 60 pitches while recording 11 first-pitch strikes, and it was enough for him to come away with the first major-league victory of his career. He was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul prior to Sunday's contest, but it's possible that Rojas sticks around with the big club in a bulk-relief role given the injuries to the Twins' rotation.
