Nico Hoerner - Beginning rehab Sunday Hoerner (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A South Bend on Sunday, Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic reports.
Impact The infielder is expected to progress to Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, which would line him up for an activation around the middle of next week. An oblique strain sent Hoerner to the injured list July 29, but he appears to be nearing his return to the Cubs' lineup.
