Gabriel Moreno - Not dealing with serious injury Moreno (hand) is not dealing with a serious injury, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
Impact Piecoro notes that Moreno was "doing fine" as of Sunday. The backstop was hit in the hand by a pitch during Saturday's Cactus League game, but he didn't go in for X-rays, and he should be returning to the lineup shortly. The injury takes on more gravity after primary catcher Carson Kelly was plunked on the forearm in Monday's spring game. Pending results of Kelly's examination and diagnosis, Moreno could be a big part of the Arizona lineup in 2023 after being dealt from the Blue Jays in the deal for Daulton Varsho.

Carson Kelly - Leaves with right forearm injury Kelly left Monday's Cactus League game against the White Sox after being hit in the right forearm area, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
Impact There's no information right now, but Kelly told Mackie that his level of concern is "not minimal." It's the second catcher injury in a few days after Gabriel Moreno left a Cactus League contest with a hit-by-pitch over the weekend, but this one sounds more serious. There should be an update on Kelly's status before Tuesday.

Tommy Henry - Sent to minors The Diamondbacks optioned Henry to Triple-A Reno on Monday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
Impact Henry's demotion leaves Ryne Nelson and Drey Jameson as the remaining candidates to open the season as Arizona's No. 5 starter. During his 15 innings in Cactus League play, Henry was unable to solve the control problems that hindered him during his first taste of the big leagues in 2022, as he issued seven walks. Despite his struggles this spring, the Diamondbacks aren't yet ready to pull the plug on developing him as a starter, so he'll head back to Triple-A to hone his repertoire.
