INJURIES

Rebounds versus Atlanta Teheran allowed a run on three hits and struck out five without walking a batter over six innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Sunday.
Impact Teheran was tagged for 17 runs over 16.1 innings across his last three starts, a stark downturn compared to his impressive work to begin his Milwaukee tenure. He was back in solid form with his fifth quality start of the year, and against a dangerous offense to boot. The right-hander is now at a 3.75 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 40:11 K:BB through 57.2 innings over 10 starts this season. He's on track to get another look at Atlanta's lineup in a road rematch next weekend.
JULY 23, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Labors in Philly Teheran (2-4) was charged with the loss Tuesday against the Phillies after he gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks across 4.2 innings. He struck out three.
Impact The 32-year-old has now surrendered at least four runs in three straight starts after he allowed just six earned runs combined over his first six outings of the season. Teheran has been a key fill-in piece for Milwaukee's rotation with a 4.01 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over 51.2 innings, but his recent struggles could result in him eventually being the odd man out when Wade Miley (elbow) and/or Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) return from the injured list.
JULY 19, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Tagged for six runs in no-decision Teheran did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing six runs on nine hits and a walk over six innings against the Cubs. He struck out seven.
Impact Teheran allowed three runs in both the second and third innings, but he'd bear down and blank the Cubs over his final three frames as the Brewers rallied to overcome the 6-0 deficit. Teheran has surrendered 13 runs over his last two outings (11.2 innings) after pitching to a 1.53 ERA in his first six starts (35.1 innings). Overall, the 32-year-old Teheran has a 3.64 ERA with a 1.02 WHIP and 32:9 K:BB across eight starts (47 innings) this season. He's lined up for a home matchup with the Reds in his next outing.
JULY 3, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Serves up four homers in loss Teheran (2-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Mets after he gave up seven runs on seven hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out two and walked none.
Impact Teheran entered the contest with just six earned runs allowed in six starts with Milwaukee, but New York topped that mark Tuesday on the strength of four home runs. The veteran right-hander has a 2.85 ERA and 0.93 WHIP through 41 innings this year, but his fantasy ceiling is limited by a 5.5 K/9. Depending on whether the Brewers utilize a five-man or six-man rotation this week, Teheran lines up to next pitch against the Pirates or Cubs.
JUNE 28, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Blanks D-Backs Teheran did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing two hits and four walks over five scoreless innings in a 5-1 loss to the Diamondbacks. He struck out three.
Impact Teheran continued his excellent start to the 2023 season, limiting Arizona to just two hits across five innings. However, he was outdueled by Cy Young candidate Zac Gallen, who allowed just one run over seven frames and picked up his second no-decision of the season. Though Teheran set a season high with four walks Wednesday, he managed to get timely outs to hold the Diamondbacks scoreless and drop his ERA to 1.53 through six starts (35.1 innings).
JUNE 22, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Picks up win Friday Teheran (2-2) yielded two runs on one hit and one walk over six innings Friday, striking out four and earning a win over Pittsburgh.
Impact The lone hit allowed by Teheran was Carlos Santana's second-inning homer. Teheran has allowed two or fewer runs and fewer than two walks in each of his first five MLB starts this season. His strong run has resulted in a 1.78 ERA and a 20:4 K:BB through 30.1 innings. Teheran is projected for a home matchup against the Diamondbacks next week.
JUNE 17, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Stellar performance not enough Teheran did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk over seven innings against the Athletics. He struck out six.
Impact Teheran posted season highs in innings completed and strikeouts but still couldn't pick up a win, as Oakland's pitching stuff stymied Milwaukee's offense. The right-hander has been stellar through four starts after signing with the Brewers at the end of May, posting a 1.48 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 16:3 K:BB across 24.1 innings, but he has just one win to show for his efforts. Milwaukee's rotation continues to be banged up, so Teheran should get plenty of opportunities moving forward, especially if he continues to pitch the way he did Saturday. His next start is is tentatively scheduled for a three-game weekend set versus the Pirates.
JUNE 11, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Looks good again in loss Teheran (1-2) took the loss against Cincinnati on Monday, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out five batters over 6.1 innings.
Impact Teheran couldn't quite match the excellence of rookie hurler Andrew Abbott, who allowed just one hit over six scoreless innings for the Reds. However, the veteran pitched well in his own right, throwing a season-high 6.1 frames and notching his second straight quality start. Though Teheran has lost two of his three starts on the campaign, he's given up just three earned runs over 17.1 innings for a 1.56 ERA. He isn't striking out many batters, pitched in independent ball last season and hasn't posted a season ERA lower than 3.50 in the majors since 2016, so there's reason to be skeptical about his resurgence. That said, Teheran has had major-league success in the past, so there's a chance he could can maintain fantasy relevance even if his numbers eventually fall back closer to his career norms.
JUNE 6, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Blanks Jays over six innings Teheran evened his record at 1-1 after tossing six innings and allowing one unearned run in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Blue Jays. He scattered four hits and failed to strike out...
Impact Three of the hits Teheran allowed went for extra bases, though one was a run-scoring triple off the bat of Kevin Kiermaier, who hit a soft fly ball that was badly misplayed by Brewers outfielder Brian Anderson. Though Teheran hasn't pitched as well his 0.82 ERA and 0.82 WHIP through his first two starts with Milwaukee would indicate, he's been able to find the strike zone consistently and has eschewed hard contact for the most part. He's not making many bats miss, however; he's generated a poor 5.6 percent swinging-strike rate across 162 pitches over his two outings.
JUNE 1, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Confirmed for another start Teheran will start Wednesday's game versus the Blue Jays in Toronto, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Impact Teheran will pick up a second straight turn through the Milwaukee rotation after he acquitted himself well in his Brewers debut last Thursday, when he struck out five and gave up one run on four hits and one walk over five innings in a losing effort versus the Giants. The right-hander will draw a tougher test Wednesday on the road, but even if his performance dips a bit, Teheran should have some leash in a Milwaukee rotation that's currently without all of Brandon Woodruff (shoulder), Wade Miley (lat), Eric Lauer (shoulder) and Aaron Ashby (shoulder).
MAY 29, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
No help in Milwaukee debut Teheran (0-1) allowed a run on four hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings, taking the loss versus the Giants on Thursday.
Impact Teheran didn't pitch in affiliated ball during 2022, instead pitching in the Atlantic and Mexican Leagues. He had an uninspiring 5.63 ERA and 1.67 WHIP over 40 innings with Triple-A El Paso as part of the Padres organization before latching on with the Brewers this week. All things considered, this was a positive debut for Teheran, aside from the lack of run support. He threw 54 of 83 pitches for strikes, showing that he can still handle a starter's workload. With Eric Lauer (shoulder), Wade Miley (lat/rib), Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) and Aaron Ashby (shoulder) all out into June at a minimum, Teheran should be an option for multiple starts going forward. He's lined up for a road start in Toronto next week.
MAY 26, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Thursday start confirmed Teheran has been confirmed as the Brewers' starter Thursday night against the Giants.
Impact Teheran ultimately passed his physical after agreeing to a one-year, major-league contract with Milwaukee earlier this week. He'll jump right into the rotation mix, though expectations should be rather low. The 32-year-old right-hander hasn't pitched in a game at the MLB level since 2021 and he was sporting a rough 5.63 ERA through 40 innings (eight starts) this season with the Triple-A affiliate of the Padres prior to opting out.
MAY 25, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Tentatively scheduled for Thursday Teheran is expected to start for the Brewers on Thursday versus the Giants, barring any issues with his physical Wednesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Teheran has agreed to terms on a major-league deal with the Brew Crew, but the contract won't be official under he goes through a medical review. Assuming no red flags arise, he'll make his Brewers debut Thursday as a rotation fill-in while the club battles multiple injuries. Teheran last pitched in the majors in 2021 and held a 5.62 ERA and 45:16 K:BB over 40 innings at the Triple-A level this season.
MAY 24, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Inks majors contract with MIL Teheran signed a one-year contract Tuesday with the Brewers, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Impact Teheran was able to score a guaranteed major-league deal after opting out of his minor-league contract with the Padres on Monday. He had an underwhelming 5.63 ERA and 1.68 WHIP through eight starts this season at Triple-A El Paso, but the Brewers are desperate for healthy arms capable of eating innings and the 32-year-old right-hander might get an immediate opportunity to work out of the Milwaukee rotation.
MAY 23, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Opts out of minors deal Teheran opted out of his minor-league contract with the Padres on Monday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Impact Teheran re-signed with the Padres after opting out of his minor-league deal earlier this month, but he seems unlikely to do so after exercising an opt-out clause again. The veteran right-hander holds a 5.62 ERA and 45:16 K:BB over 40 innings with Triple-A El Paso.
MAY 22, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Re-signs with San Diego Teheran signed a minor-league contract Thursday with the Padres, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Impact Teheran opted out of a previous minor-league agreement with the Padres on Tuesday, but he's back with the organization 48 hours later and could stay right on his normal rotation turn at Triple-A El Paso. The 32-year-old has struggled to a 6.84 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 29:9 K:BB through 25 innings (five starts) this season in the Pacific Coast League.
MAY 4, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Opts out of deal with San Diego Teheran was released by the Padres on Tuesday after opting out of his minor-league contract, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Impact Heyman notes the Padres "would like him back," so the 32-year-old right-hander could wind up re-signing with the club after first testing the open market. He had registered a 6.84 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 29:9 K:BB through 25 innings (five starts) this season with Triple-A El Paso.
