Fans seven in no-decision Gray didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Marlins, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out seven.
Impact The right-hander was sharp through 91 pitches (62 strikes), but Gray exited the game on the hook for his second loss of the year until the Nats did all their scoring in the top of the seventh inning. He's reeled off three straight quality starts, and over 28 innings since being traded east from the Dodgers the 23-year-old has a 2.89 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 29:8 K:BB through 28 innings.

Tosses quality start Wednesday Gray didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 8-5 win over the Blue Jays, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out four.
Impact Both runs came on solo shots by Teoscar Hernandez and Marcus Semien, but Gray was otherwise sharp as he delivered his second straight quality start. In four outings since heading east as part of the Max Scherzer/Trea Turner trade, the 23-year-old has an impressive 2.86 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 22:5 K:BB. If there's been an issue for Gray so far as a Nat, it's the difficulty he's had keeping the ball in the park -- he's served up seven homers in those four starts, but miraculously they've all come with the bases empty.

Charged with loss Friday Gray (0-1) allowed three runs on five hits and no walks while striking out six in six innings to take the loss against Atlanta on Friday.
Impact Gray limited Atlanta's offense to a single across the first four innings of Friday's matchup, but he allowed solo home runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to put him in line for his first loss of the year. Across three starts since he was traded to the Nationals, the right-hander has posted a 2.81 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 16 innings. He tentatively lines up to make his next appearance on the road against Milwaukee on Friday.

Fans 10 batters Saturday Gray struck out 10 batters over five innings in a no-decision against Atlanta on Saturday. He surrendered two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks.
Impact In the best outing of his young career, Gray induced 20 swinging strikes in just five frames and racked up a career-high 10 punchouts. He allowed a solo homer to Jorge Soler in the first inning but was otherwise difficult to score upon, with the only other run against him coming as a result of an error in the third frame. The right-hander has looked superb in his first two starts with Washington, allowing a total of two earned runs over a combined 10 innings. He's tentatively lined up to face the Braves again -- this time at home -- next Friday.

Solid in Nats debut Gray didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 7-5 loss to the Phillies, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out two.
Impact Making his Washington debut, Gray blanked Philadelphia for four frames before Odubel Herrera launched a solo shot off him in the fifth, and he tossed 47 of 71 pitches for strikes before exiting. The right-hander hadn't lasted longer than four innings in either of his appearances for the Dodgers prior to heading east at the trade deadline, so the reduced workload is likely just temporary, but keeping the ball in the park has been a challenge for him in the majors so far -- Gray has served up five homers in only 13 innings.

In his debut, Josiah Gray gives Nationals a taste of what his scouting report promised: 'He's the future for us' “It was good for him and good for our fans to see him come out here and do what he did,” manager Dave Martinez said.
