Outdueled Monday
Urquidy did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing one run on six hits and zero walks over 7.2 innings in a 4-2 loss against the White Sox. He struck out four.
Impact
After getting through seven scoreless innings, it looked like Urquidy would make it eight with two outs to start the inning. However, with his pitch count creeping toward 100 on the night, skipper Dusty Baker decided to pull the 27-year-old after AJ Pollock reached on an infield single. Rafael Montero proceeded to let Pollock and three other runners score, costing Urquidy a possible win as Johnny Cueto and Liam Hendriks held the Astros to just two runs. Urquidy will carry a 3.69 ERA and 1.14 WHIP over 127 innings into his next start.

Hit hard, picks up win
Urquidy (11-4) recorded the victory Tuesday over Texas despite allowing five runs on five hits, two walks and two hit batsmen while striking out three in five innings.
Impact
Urquidy allowed three home runs but left the game with a 6-5 lead and picked up the victory. Marcus Semien, Corey Seager and Adolis Garcia all took the lefty deep. The poor showing ended a run of nine straight quality starts for Urquidy. He is 6-1 with a 2.82 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 50:14 K:BB in 64 innings across his last 10 starts, including Tuesday. His next start will likely be early next week in Chicago against the White Sox.

Strikes out 10 in win
Urquidy (10-4) earned the win against Boston on Wednesday, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out 10 and walking none over seven innings.
Impact
Urquidy was impressive Wednesday, throwing 70 of 97 pitches for strikes across seven frames and limiting Boston to just three baserunners thanks to a single, a double and a hit batter. Urquidy has put together a streak of nine quality starts dating back to June 14. During that span, the righty went 5-1 and lowered his ERA from 4.99 to 3.62.

Tosses another quality start
Urquidy completed 6.2 innings against Seattle on Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three batters. He did not factor in the decision.
Impact
Urquidy struck out only three batters for the second straight start, but he held the Mariners to two runs, both of which came in the third inning. Strong in Friday's win
Urquidy (9-4) allowed a run on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings, earning the win over the Mariners on Friday.
Impact
The fourth time was the charm for Urquidy, as he had yielded 17 runs (15 earned) in 13 innings in his three previous starts versus the Mariners this year. The right-hander showed more control Friday, throwing 70 of 105 pitches for strikes. The only run he allowed in this outing was on a Ty France solo home run in the sixth inning. Urquidy has strung together seven quality starts in a row, and he now has a 3.93 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 77:22 K:BB across 100.2 innings in 18 outings. He's projected for a rematch with the Mariners in Houston next week if the Astros stick to a six-man rotation.

Handed loss in quality start
Urquidy (8-4) took the loss during Friday's 5-1 defeat at the hands of the Athletics, allowing three runs on six hits with nine strikeouts in six-plus innings.
Impact
Urquidy cruised through six innings before encountering trouble in the seventh, surrendering three straight hits that prompted his removal. All three runners crossed the plate, putting the 27-year-old in line for the loss as Houston was only able to muster a single run. Despite the defeat, Urquidy has surrendered three runs or fewer while pitching at least six innings in six straight starts. He concludes the first half with a 4.09 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 74 strikeouts in 94.2 innings across 17 starts.

Goes eight for the win
Urquidy (8-3) gave up three earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out two over eight innings to earn the win in an 8-3 victory over the Athletics on Friday.
Impact
Urquidy got plenty of run support and was effective over eight innings to pick up his eighth win of the season. The 27-year-old right-hander took advantage of the weak Athletics lineup by pitching to contact all night long. He induced seven ground balls and 15 fly balls, only one of which left the yard. Urquidy has now strung together five quality starts in a row and has lowered is ERA to 4.08 from a season-high 5.04 on June 9. He is expected to make his next start at home in a rematch against the Athletics on Friday.
