Earns ninth win
Soriano (9-6) earned the win Sunday, allowing one unearned run on three hits and three walks over five innings in a 4-3 win over San Francisco. He struck out five.
Impact
Soriano was lifted after five frames at 85 pitches (47 strikes), but he was able to keep the San Francisco offense quiet en route to picking up his first win since June 13. After a disastrous stretch on the mound during May and June, the right-hander has found his footing a bit in July, posting a 2.74 ERA and 0.96 WHIP across 23 innings (four starts), though his strikeout production has dipped a bit this month. Overall, Soriano owns a 3.29 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 127:57 K:BB across 123 innings (22 starts) and is tentatively scheduled to make his next start Saturday against Milwaukee.

Turns in quality start
Soriano allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Monday.
Impact
Soriano didn't have a strikeout in his last start, but he bounced back well in his longest outing since May 10 versus the Blue Jays. The Cardinals got to him for two runs in the second inning, but Soriano was able to get back on track, ending with 64 of his 95 pitches going for strikes. The right-hander now has a 3.43 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 122:54 K:BB through 118 innings over 21 starts this season. His next start is projected to be at San Francisco.

Fails to log strikeout in loss
Soriano (8-6) allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while failing to record a strikeout over five innings as he took the loss versus the Twins on Sunday.
Impact
Soriano had logged at least two strikeouts in every outing this season prior to Sunday. He's found a little more success with limiting walks lately -- he's given up no more than two free passes in six of his last seven outings. However, he has just one quality start and has reached the six-inning mark only twice in that span. Soriano is at a 3.49 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 115:53 K:BB through 111 innings over 20 starts this season.

Settles for no-decision but logs QS
Soriano completed six innings in a no-decision against Texas on Tuesday, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out four batters.
Impact
Soriano gave up a pair of runs on two walks and a single in the second inning. Beyond that frame, the right-hander was excellent, yielding just two additional baserunners (on a hit-by-pitch and a single). Soriano picked up his first quality start since May 21 and completed six innings for just the second time over his past eight appearances. He's faded after a scorching start to the season, but Soriano still has solid numbers with a 3.40 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 115:51 K:BB over 106 innings spanning 19 starts. He's projected to start the Angels' final game before the All-Star break in Minnesota.

Strikes out nine in loss
Soriano (8-5) allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out nine over five-plus innings to take the loss versus the Mariners on Tuesday.
Impact
Soriano was trading zeroes with Bryan Woo for five innings, but the Mariners broke through in the sixth. Soriano allowed three straight singles to begin that frame, and Chase Silseth wasn't able to stop the bleeding after coming on in relief with two runners aboard. Soriano had a mediocre June, giving up 20 runs (17 earned) over 28.2 innings across six starts, though he logged a 33:18 K:BB in that span. For the season, he's at a 3.42 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 111:49 K:BB across 100 innings through 18 starts. The right-hander's next start is projected to be on the road versus the Rangers.

Hit hard in no-decision
Soriano took a no-decision Wednesday against the Orioles, allowing five runs on six hits and two walks in three innings. He struck out four.
Impact
Soriano didn't have his best stuff on the bump Wednesday, as half of the hits allowed went for extra bases. The 27-year-old right-hander has regressed dramatically following an incredible start to the season that saw him post a 0.24 ERA through six starts -- he's given up at least three runs in seven of his last 11 outings. Soriano holds what's still a respectable 3.41 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 102:48 K:BB over 95 innings, and his next scheduled appearance is set to come at pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park versus the division-rival Mariners.
